Default Atlanta guys it's not to early to plan ............

Hey Atlanta guys it's getting warmer and we need to plan for a few Spring / Early Summer get togethers.

Any suggestions other than car shows, bar sitting - these puppies are made to drive not sit in parking lots

Dyno Day ?
Day Trip ?
Weekend Trip ?

The other clubs are way ahead of us

Randy

Randy,

I will be game shortly for a mountain drive. Unfortunately I will lose this weekend due to in-law crap that will take me to Hilton Head this weekend, but I need to keep wifey somewhat happy . Good news is I just painted the mufflers tonight. Did the torch thing you mentioned and you can see the stuff ooze/evaporate whatever it is it needs to ooze.

I am also planning on a Cobra gathering here and having some BBQ to celebrate completion of the car. You know my thoughts on Dynos already.

I hope to be back together... and the car too... by EOM. I am western bound this weekend and most of next week, but definitely ready to get out there and drive!!!

I have attached a picture to remind us what it's like:

GS, the activities you mentioned (shows, bar sitting) both are sitting not driving.... just trying to help...

Headed West eh chill - in a hurry - to take advantage of the lack of law now being practiced in San Fran ?

TC the dyno day suggestion was more for tuning than bragging. BBQ sounds great, however I fear starvation if we are waiting for you to finish KMP 249

I'm always up for something on the weekends I have off from work. The FFR guys in Georgia are forming an impromtu club and have planned a weekend get-a-way in May ... my luck, it just happened to fall on a work weekend.

Riverstone Cruise In will be starting back up next month ....

What's the deal with the FFR Guys? I've not heard of any other Cobra group wanting to maintain "brand sovereignty". It's not the makes of the cars that make the gatherings special, it's the people. I just learned of an FFR owner who lives 15 minutes from me through his response on my trailer on the FFR forum. He sent me his number and I'll be contacting him soon. Maybe he will enter our local brotherhood.

Hey Tony .. don't shoot the messenger or I'll turn your name over to the Atlanta Bicycle Club. Besides, you started quite a ruckus over the FFR forum with all that talk about your trailer tent. I thought you were just brainstorming that day you tolds us about it .. and then I see it posted on the FFR forum .. too funny! I was like, "hey, I know that guy!! Holy crap, he made it work!!" Glad you made the plan come together.

You guys should know me better than to think I'm 'brand specific'. Some guy starting putting together a FFROG group for Georgia .. and I'll use any excuse I can to meet up with more Cobra owners.

Bud, you're the last guy I'd shoot at (you might shoot back). I'm not by any means shooting the messenger, I just think that some great fellowship may be lost because of "brand barriers". I could care less what kind of Cobra each of us has. For that matter, for the folks I've come to know through our little gatherings, I don't even care if you have a Cobra at all. You're obviously NOT brand specific by the mere fact that you are a major participant in our little group. If we could find a way to get all of the Atlanta area Cobra guys together, we'd have quite a force. Maybe it's just a matter of coordination. I hope it's not a "denominational thing".

Well put Tony! I have no tolerance for denominationalism - unless you're talking about those blasted S. Baptists, Methodists, Catholics, Lutherans, Evangelicals & Presbyterians but outside these I just don't understand it! Can't we all just get along?

Since we were breaking the 60 degree mark today, I drove the little red car to work. I had been promising an old buddy of mine who works in the same vicinity a lunch ride when the weather improved. In any event, we did lunch and on the way back to drop him off, I got attacked by a guy (older than me) in a little red Ferrari. (Bud, don't read this part) Even with my 200+ lb friend in the car, I absolutely slaughtered him. We only had a quarter mile or so of four-lane before we both had to turn into an industrial complex. When he finally caught up with us in the park, I could tell he had been crying. My buddy was impressed, a bit pale, but impressed. I thought it was great fun.

I know alot of the FFR guys from the ffr forum and think they most likely grouped up because that forum is so helpful with the building process for that specific manufacturer. Like myself until the car was about complete I really haven't found time to look around at all the other cobra sites. As with this site, I really don't think the guys there really care what type of car you have, we all just enjoy cars. I'd be happy to post any info on get toethers from the other site.

Anyway, I hope to be meeting alot of you as soon a Bruce is done painting my car. Probably about two to three more weeks and then I have to put on all the accessories. So about the second week of March I plan to be terrorizing all of Atlanta...

David, I think it actually only goes back to the last outing or two that was had. Forgot who, rumbled by a cyclist, who didn't like to get rattled. We'll gladly fill you in at the next meet, or you can maybe find it in these archives. I'd usually have it at the tip of my tongue, but we have been a dormant group lately . Hope to see you at the next event in January of 2005 .

Some people just can't get along. I've got to go wipe the Ferrari blood off my car.

I look foreward to meeting up with you guys. I went to the "drag night" but my car wasnt finished so I didnt get a chance to participate. As far as brands, it doesnt matter what kind of car you drive to me. I however drive a Real FFR.
