Unique Homecoming
What's the deal on Unique's Homecoming event? I noticed that only 6 folks have signed up to date. Are you many Atlanta-area Unique guys like me and merely procrastinating? Alan is needing some idea of who's attending to they can plan accordingly. I hope we will have an Atlanta showing of force. I'm thinking of heading over on Thursday afternoon and coming back on Saturday evening.

Tony,
I'll probably be going but can't commit as of yet. This has been a fun event in years past.
Are you towing or driving?

Tony,
Many more are coming. They only have 6 paid registrations to date, but their registration form specifies you have until April 16 to get it in.
I haven't sent in my taxes with the check yet either.

You HAD to bring up the tax thing! I just haven't heard any of the Atlanta Unique guys talking about going and I was curious. I know it's a bit early. Hopefully we'll have a good showing. Joel, I'll definitely be towing. It's too good of an opportunity to show everyone the trailer. And who knows, there may be a chance of rain.

I'm waiting to see if my son will be playing baseball. His team looks like a good one and the NCCAA World Series for Division III may be a conflict. Depending on the out come of the games I could possibly be commuting from the game to Unique and will not have the car.
If the baseball is over I will probably drive the car over - weather be damned - unless my trailer idea comes together. I'm working on it now and hope to have it finished before the event, but that is a long shot.

Sounds like to me you GA guy's are dragging a$$, Alan told me he has only 1 of 25 registrations from GA. TN and AL are leading the pack. Come on guy's lets get going, I am sure we are going to have a great time.

What are the dates this year? Are they going to do the Talledega GP track like in the past? When will registration forms be available. Went to Uniques website and had a baner saying "info soon" cb

Chiperb,
May 13-16. No Talledega this year. Legal liability concerns and the advice of counsel have forced them to back away from that event..... It's a family business and in today's litigious society when it seems almost anyone will sue to cover for their own stupidity, I can't say that I blame them.
Talledega is a little too hot for the skill level of most drivers in Cobra replicas today.

"litigious"? Clay, is that really a word? You know we don' t talk like that down around these parts. Somebody might think you're talking about their mama.

Sorry Tony....but yes it is a word that comes from "litigate", which basically means to settle the matter in a court of law. I'll try to be more careful in my choice of words from now on.....LOL.
How's the trailer biz? Been sending people I know your way.

Clay, I appreciate that. I'm working on a deal right now (local). Folks are going to want opinions other than mine and now that the car show season is about to begin, I'll have a chance to show it. Also, I should have a banner or two up pretty soon.

I haven't missed a Unique Homecoming since 1999, but it looks like I'll miss this one. My daughter graduates from college at the same time as this year's event which means I'd be arriving at the same time most folks would be leaving.

I finally said "the hell with it" and sent in the check. My schedule will simply have to maneuver around the homecoming. My current plan is to head over to John Haynie's place on Thurs and spend the night (thanks, John). Then John, Steve Foushie (sp?) and I (and my wife, and my kid) will leave early Friday morning to head over there. We haven't decided if we're driving or towing. I'm at the Hampton, as is John and I think Steve.
This will also be my first Unique Homecoming and my first visit to the factory since I originally picked up the car. I'm very much looking forward to it, especially after cruising around Columbia with 6 other Cobras today.
