Tony, did you get your oil thing squared away? If not, check the intake manifold bolts and make sure they are tight--I kid you not. There has been a case of another perfectly good motor where the intake loosened a bit and it suck oil out of the galley and basically " oil injected" the fuel mixture.

Definitely a good ride. It started out a bit cool , but the roads were smooth and once we shook the garbage truck , the gravel truck , and the town car , we had a few opportunities to open it up and were even able to dice with one of N GA's many exotics in the twisties between Gainesville and Dawsonville!!! He tried me on and then almost flipped trying to keep up!
I am glad to report that nobody fired at us with a water bottle even though Tony was ready and wearing his rain coat just in case....
Sorry about lunch, we ended up at Johnny B's... completely missed the Sonic....

6 of us in all, I pulled up at the last minute as everyone was fueling up at 10:30. Sun broke out toward the end of the ride and no mechanicals...what a day. I fueled back up and went for a short Kennesaw spin it was so nice. Great to meet everyone and look forward to the next time.

Mike, I want to believe the consumption is subsiding a bit. I'm going to keep watching it for the next few hundred miles or so, and if it doesn't stop, I'll take it back to Bill. He's already told me to call and schedule a tear down. I'm just holding out in hopes it's just a case of slow seating rings. It runs so well.

Do check them though, it's a simple thing to rule out and could maybe save you a trip. I spent time with the machinist yesterday, and it is common for these to take some time to seat in and seal up as well.

Sounds like you guys had a blast. I went over to Crackers house, first run out of the hood (about 10 miles round trip). Noticed on the way that the initial alignment I did is off quite a bit. A few loose ends to work out but nothing major. Hope to have a professional alignment and registration this week.
May also need to burp the radiator. My daughter really enjoyed the short ride so the wife will have to fight for a postion in the passanger seat.
Hope to see you guys at the next one.
Oh yeah I did pass a couple of you guys on the way to the Ace hardware on Ga. 20. A blue with White stripes and a silver with a black roll bar. It was all a blurr it happened so fast.

Missed yuz guys
Sorry, but due to the rather chilly conditions (and threat of rain), I opted to meet you all at the Sonic at noon.
When I arrived, Cajun and his brother were already there---Cajun has a very nice B&B, blue with a 351.
Tony (Cracker) arrived about 12:30 in the Bimmer, along with the tykes, and I had a deja vu about what it's like to haul the little ones around and keep them fed---that daughter of his can eat!!
Anyway, we hung out and waited for the crowd, but obviously no one showed. Anyway, I left about 1:15, and Cajun and his brother were right behind, as they had something like 50 lbs of crawfish waiting for them, and party pending.
Hope to be in the lead pack at the next outing.....
