Default Scumbags are everywhere!

OK, so I'm mowing my lawn after a brief Cobra jaunt and hating it. My drive belt starts slipping so I shut her down. I had been blowing leaves with my trusty Redmax backpack blower that's been giving me great service for the past 20 years. I blow the yard debris off my mower prior to disassembly, lay it down next to the mower and head out to the Depot. While I'm there, my daughter calls to tell me that some scruffy-looking woman and her male partner pull up in my driveway in a GEO Metro, toss my leaf blower in their back seat and casually drive away. WTF? Needless to say, I'm bumming. Now I get to come up with $400 or so to buy a new one. SVOBud, if you happen to come up on a turquoise GEO being piloted by a pair of late 50s, scruffy looking folks, please kill them.

Put another piece of equipment out in the same location... Lie in wait... I'm sure they'll be cruising the area again.... The car shouldn't be too hard to track down....
They'll either sell it for 25 bucks or donate it and claim a $400. charitable deduction on their income tax....
Or possibly look for a Geo Metro that is powered by a leaf blower.

How bout a beat down .. and then I call you for the finishing touches?

Seriously .. call your local P.D. and file a report. Even if you don't have the SN. All pawnshops must submit their 'tickets' to the local P.D.s .. were they are entered and cross checked against stolen/wanted reports thru GCIC/NCIC.

That racket has been going on in Metro Atlanta for quite a while. Sorry to hear about your misfortune. I read a report about lawn equipment thefts in the AJC several years back, and have been hyper vigilant since. Apparently it's not safe to even get a drink in the house without putting the equipment in the garage.
Another place to be extra cautious is the Lowes and Home Depot parking lots. If it's not under lock and key it's gone. If it is under lock and key it might be there when you get back.
I hate a phuckin' thief. The last one I caught Deep Throated my 870, while waiting to go to jail on Felony "Entering An Auto" charges. I'm 1 for 2.

That "violated" feeling really sucks. I had to go take it out on my Jag differential. Bud, I did call Gwinnett County. They sent out a really good guy. He had already been cruising around the area looking for the car. Oh well, time to go shopping.

Good god...I better run out to the garage and take inventory. My wife has been known to leave the house with the garage door wide open, for 'just a quick errand'. The lazy days of country living and unlocked doors are coming to an end.

I will be on the look out for that turquoise Geo Metro on this end of 400.

Tony a few years back two creeps kicked in my door and ransacked the house. I knew who did it but couldn't prove it. I did manage to put the fear of GOD in the bastards and they moved. They were renters from about a mile away and had been doing some tree work for me. Should have invited them in - killed the bastards and then called the cops - next time............

It is one of the main reasons I live 1000 feet from the road.

Tony, sorry to here of your misfortune. Good thing they didn't take the car while they were at it.

Just a thought.

Tony,

There's nothing worse than a theif or a liar. You know, in Singapore, if you are caught stealing, they cut off your hand and carve THEIF in your forehead. I wonder if you can buy a cobra in Singapore...hmmmm...If I catch someone stealing, I'll knock teeth out of his head like candy out of a pinata!

I came out of Home Depot last summer just as two "non american" types were casing my '81 Ford P/U. I had a four foot length of 2" wood
curtain rod I had just purchased in my hand. I quietly walked up to the truck and said can I help you fellas. Didn't know Mexicans could run that fast. LOL

It must be a "primal" thing because the fact that my property was stolen is more significant than the fact that I've got to spend $400+ to purchase something I already owned two days ago.

The Cobra stays locked up in the garage when I'm not in it. Somebody would have to work for that one (knock on wood).

I just spoke to my Allstate agent regarding my recent misfortune and found out I have a $250 deductible. Atleast my $420 blower will only be $250. I am sort of happy.

Doug, you are mean! That may be correct in Mandarin. Though I think the Saudis have the handinectemy thing going. Singapore is big on caining, which may be more appropriate here. It would be hard to wear my backpack blower on a back that resembled raw hamburger.

Doug,

Sorry, "i before e except after c", got caught up in the heat of the moment. I'll do my best to never let it happen again.

Let the punishment fit the crime..

Would it not suck really bad to have 180mph hot air blown in your face until your eyeballs dried up and fell out?

I'm all for eliminating cruel and unusual punishment. The punishment HAS to fit the crime. I think this one might work.

Tony, I'd think twice before making a claim for $450 on home owners, they can now increase your premium and drop you after just a few claims.

I called my homeowners just to inquire about coverage after my oil burner backed up and even though I didn't put in a claim they raised my premium and put my on a risk list. Didn't help to go to another company as they were able to see my history because it was on file. That lasted 5 years. Talk about scumbags !!
