Sunday Cobra Run 1:30-3:30
Hey Gents,
John Owen and I are taking a nice "hot" run early Sunday afternoon which offers a nice combination of twisties and straights. Meeting place is the Texaco station at the Birmingham Hwy (372) & Birmingham Rd. intersection which is a few miles north of TC & GS.
BTW, now is the time to show JO a thing or two as his engine is still ailing and ONLY has about 500 RWHP - at present. I figure if we can hook a few of our cars together we can out run him!
Fattybri and others: I have an open seat if anyone would like to go for a drive.
48IDA - where are you? Come join us as it would mark the 1st time I've seen two cars with 48's for an outing.

Cracker,
I'm up for it, but of course, I'll need to check with the wife to make sure I have permission.
I'll let you know.

Joel,
I was hoping you would see this thread. As a fellow Church going fella the earlier times are hard for me to make. This might persuade GeorgiaSnake to come because it is well known (just about every time I see him) that he thinks your engine is the best sounding of the bunch! I hope you get a hall pass since this would be reflective of the three fastest "normal" cobra's from our November get together, however, slower cars are welcome. I will say it first - I am 3rd of of 3 but thats ok since the two ahead of me have 670+ hp each or did (sorry John)!

Fattybri - great! If you know where Crabapple Rd. is coming out of Roswell heading north you will eventually come to an intersection with a Shell station on the LEFT (this is called Crabapple Junction). Turn LEFT at light which is Birmingham Hwy. aka: HWY 372 and proceed aproximately 6 miles until you come to a 4-way stop intersection. The Texaco station is immediately through the intersection on the LEFT (the only gas station there). Be there at 1:30 and were on our way. BTW, with the recent DEATH of the fella in CT I'm unlikely to make you use your extra pair of undies - but you might squirt.

Joel,
email or post your phone number - I'm too tired to try to explain the route. The sooner the better as I have plans later in the evening or call me at 770-664-7670 before 7:00 pm tonight.

RedUnique - 673hp out of a naturally aspirated Windsor? And, it's carbed?!? Wow - 1.75hp per cubic inch .. naturally aspirated and street driven. That's a record somewhere.

WOW!
First of all it was great to meet a couple new fella's - Brian (fattybri) and Rob Genn(?) the new Superformance dealer for GA.
Second, what a ride! We must have set a local record for the number of 130 mph runs in an outing. I couldn't shake a cop off my butt for an entire hour and when I finally stopped he made fun of my BB!
It was a terrific route with little traffic once through Jasper (sorry JO) that allowed for some fantastic twisties.
I almost forgot to inform those not in the know that we have a resident COP in our group with a pesky little SB. I don't know about you JOEL but I think we should have checked SVO's engine for a little BLOWER!!!

Yellow - John Owen. Blue - me. Red - Rgunn's Superformance Coupe. There's a couple more in my photo album.
Took the picture while we were waiting at the quikie mart for Tony to show up. He was late because he was still assembling his car this morning before the cruise. Heck, he didn't get it fully put back together - but brought it out anyway. Sorry - no pics of the Crackerwagon. I was do busy shaking my head and telling FattyBri, "be scared - be very scared."

Hey Bud - what's up with that loney in the big truck (could have been TC ) pulling out in the far lane. Is there any way he didn't see us coming? I think not! Ole FattiBri and I just about jump through the door openings. You know what really sucked is being the slowest one of the group - even when the BB left! My only saving grace was MINE LOOKED BETTER! Have to resort to WAXER at times like these.
Enjoyed it a bunch - thanks for coming guys.
Joel - email me your phone number so we can hook up in Marietta some time.

Yeah - the guy in the truck was a big ahole. He saw us coming. I know this cause he was looking at me we he ran the stop sign and still pulled right in front of us - going 20 mph. I think I creased the seat trying to stop.

Don't let that small block fool ya, I have to twist every bit of Hp out of my reasonably built Windsor to keep up with the blue bullet!

Nice to meet eveyone! That was just too much fun! I really appreciate the ride Tony....or do I?! Those competition lightweights are scary at 130mph w/ no doors, wrong seatbelts, carpet flying up, emblems falling off and the rumor of no rear brakes!
Only time i puckered up a bit is when that truck pulled out infront of us! Yikes! Good thing i had shoulder belts...oh, wait...good thing the brakes were fully operational....oh, wait....well at least i could have bailed out easy with no doors!!
Rode with Joel (redUnique) for a few miles and thought i was in a caddy with doors and seatbelts!
I think this calls for a build party at my house to finsh mine up so i can play this summer too!
