but the salvage way is really a stretch.
I think the law is still on the books for p/u trucks. They amended it to require SUV's to fall under the passenger car law (which requires belts). Did Tom Murphy (D) retire or was he "run out of office"? I think the law was passed for farmers. They are required to be in and out of trucks (as part of their vocation). Regardless, I use belts in my 6000 lb. truck.

I agree the salvage title is a big stretch. It would certainly decrease the resell value in my opinion.

Thanks to everyone for your help. (thumbs up)

Uh huh .. whatever you say there chief. Now try reading OCGA 40-8-76.1

Reminder for those not noticing: I'm a Police Officer. I will not be showing you how to violate Georgia Law, I can show you exactly what the law requires here in Georgia - and nothing more.

Default Appreciate title advice on specific scenario

I'm looking at a car that has a 1966 427 engine in it. It is an ERA kit built in 1993. I'd be buying the car from someone in Texas. The car was originally built, and I assumed titled, in Indiana. I've asked the seller for the title info which I will pass on when I get it. Given this, what do I need to do to get it titled? I'm in Fulton County, so subject to the Clean Airforce stuff I guess. Also, any ideas on how tough it is to pass emissions with a 500hp big block Ford running side pipes? Wonder if I can burn out the emissions testing machine roller machine they use ;-)
Thanks!
Scott

Gasman speaks the truth - this is a subject better handled face to face. Watch for a meeting - attend - and get all the info you need.
