Took first drive tonight!!
My build has really gone by fast! Finished bleeding the brakes and going over every nut and bolt last night. As soon as i got home this afternoon i fired it up and did some adjusting on the idle speed/idle mixture screws. Figured it was close enough and jumped in for ride around the neighborhood.....minus body!
Cracker taught me that body parts are for waxers and the "lightweight competition models" are more rare anyway!
Only put about 2 miles on the car, but they sure were fun. Took the girlfriend for a trip around the block also.
The car is, ummm, ....healthy. I spun the 315 drag radials right out of the driveway not even trying.

Congrats on the go cart ride Brian. Break in the neighbors slowly. What's the ETA on completion?

Always exciting. Congrats. Glad you survived- lots of opps-es on the go cart ride because it's so light. Rememeber to try to give yourself time to get use to the car; shortwheel base + gigantic horse power to weight ratio = exciting times. Good luck...Bob

I dont know if the neighbors love me or hate me! I've only lived in this neighborhood since Feb, so i think i'm that "annoying new guy with the loud car".
Xlr8or- My original plan was 1 year completion. I'm at 5 months now. Have to do some saving for the paint/bodywork, but i would like to enjoy some driving time this fall.
Thanks Bob, definatly sign me up for a high performance driving class asap! DOn't think i was driving like an idot around my neighborhood. Only got it up to about 30 for a second. Just puttered around slowly.

Congrats on the progress of your build! I drove my "go-kart" around the neighborhood sitting on a milk crate. Battery and gas can held on with shock cords. . . whata blast! Also fired it up with open headers and didn't see my neighbor's PITA dog for 3 days!
Also, drove it around w/o paint job for awhile. . . looked like a black turd. Didn't want to be pullin' the motor if I didn't have to with a fresh paint job. . . make sure the mechs are rite first. Have fun with it, it's almost impossible not to!

Well, well, well - I can see I'm now linked permanently to "missing body parts"! I guess it could be worse. Congrats on the progress and remember if you need help, any time, 24 hrs. a day - TC lives right around the corner! No seriously 'ole GeorgiaSnake is not far either. Take it for a ride to Canton this Sat. - you know I WOULD but I think I'd stay close to our club cop - the one with the big mouth. Sorry Bud that's as far as the icon can spread it!
