Default Sept mtn run

Hello All!

We, at McMichael Motorsports in Braselton, are planning a Saturday afternoon run to the mtns. September 17, there will be an MG meet at the Dillard House, they expect about 100 old MG's. I thought it would be a beautiful drive with some friends. I have spoken with the MG club and they welcome our ground-thumping intrusion. They are curious as to how many will show up as they will try to create our own parking area.
After a walk through MG festivities, a short drive to Brasstown Bald for sunset and dinner in Helen.

Any ideas are welcome.

All are welcome to join!

Feel free to contact me with any corresponding ideas and levels of interest.

Gregory,

This sounds great. I am taking my car to the paint shop tomorrow and should get it back the first of September. This schedule should give me a couple of weeks to get the final details in place. This ride could be a good test of things. I have put guiet a few miles on it with just go-carting and feel good about everything working properly. I will keep watching the post until then.

Finally! An event to look forward to and PLANNED IN ADVANCE!!! What a concept. It appears, due to our recent gatherings, that we ALL need a little time to schedule the day out in order to make it happen.

Greg - thanks for handling the coordination and it looks like a real nice agenda.

Sounds like fun. The 17th is a Friday so I guess you mean the 18th?

Ugh,
I have just gotten back from the shop that is going to paint my car. He says it could be 3 months worse case on getting my car back. He says it will be sooner, but 3 months worse case. How do you say November...I might be riding a bicyle up there. I hope I can keep up...not!

Yea,
I think he was preparing for the worst. David Hatcher had his done there and he picked it up 4 weeks to the day. 4-6 weeks I can live with. It will take me that long to clean up my garage. It took me 3 weeks just to get it down there. Work is killing me! I painted my home built airplane a few years ago (when I had time and a place to do it) it was 3 times bigger that the roadster and I used 3 colors. I just don't have the time or space to paint. My daughter, her husband, and their 2 month old are living with us until their home is built. I do not want to get the fumes in the house like I did with the airplane. I don't think I can live in the roadster...not easy to lay down in.

Are things still on track for this event? It's amazing how fast time flies as I age. Is there any interest in making this a morning departure, lunch at Dillard House and a late afternoon arrival back in Atl? I love the food there.

Remember, if we cross the "five-Cobra" threshold, we will need a tow vehicle, trailer, parts wagon and enough tools to field-strip and reassemble. If we head north of Rabun County, we'll need to add satellite phone, flare gun and med kit. If it becomes an over night affair, add pit bull and 30' of chain.
