New Ford Shelby GT-1 prototype
I don’t usually read the Atl J-C (wouldn’t line a bird cage with it) . Anyway as I was bending down to pick up the WSJ outside my office I saw this picture in the paper which piqued my interest. This car looks great I think. Hope its lot less expensive than the GT-40.
PS hope the picture comes out or I'll need a lesson from Chill on how to post pic's

Alex, you mean the Atlanta urnal and constipation, got a monthly greasing at the waffel house this morning and saw the same artical , then stopped by NAPA and they had a magazine (forgot) with the GT-1 spread, slight resemblance of the coupe I believe. Looks damn good.

This Shelby GSR "concept car" was at Monterey Concorso Italiano last week. I spoke with the designer for a bit. It had no engine and a false interior as a mock up for now. The stated purpose was to receive feedback. It was sitting right next the "concept" V10 Cobra.
It looked more like a modern day version of Daytona Coupe in the rear, and a similar look to the Ford GT front end. I took pics with my non-digital cam, but you will see magazine pics by the time i can post them.
Looked pretty nice in person, but still had that Ford hard edge look to it vs. something that flowed a bit more. The designer stated to me that he is not sure if they are going to produce it or not yet. Seems they were still looking at quote: "feedback on both the V10 Cobra "concept" and the new Shelby GSR "concept" cars "".

Looks like it takes alot of styling cues from the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti - but that's my opinion.

That looks very intersting... kinda looks like the result of the mating of a FordGT and Jaguar (I will let you draw you own conclusions as to who was on top....) ...with just a hint of Vector W12....
.....No sidepipes? What is this world coming to???
p.s. Well done Alex.

Chill
When I posted that pic I had to down size it to 40,000 bytes. You see the results. I used the 'attach file' box with the browse below. Above tho there is a button that has IMG on it. Is that what I should use??

I put any pictures I want to attach in my Gallery first, then paste the picture "properties" into the IMG box.... seems to work.

I like the newer Shelby prototype over the previous one.
Rumors: Autoweek(?) said it would replace the GT(40) when it's production was over. They speculated that it would be aimed at the Viper (around $85K). It would use the same chassis (and some other parts) as the GT so that would keep the price down (below the GT).
Yea, the AJC sucks. Why can't we have a decent newspaper in Atlanta?
