There's an SCCA autocross at the Gwinnett fairgrounds this Sunday. Is anyone going?
Kip, are you signed up? I didn't see you on the list and didn't know your email.

Mike, I will be there, I am in negotiations with my wife on when I run. I want to go in the afternoon, but I might wind up running time only in the morning, so I can be back to help with the trick or treaters. I'll post here later on when I'll run.
I rebuilt my diff for less lockup, we'll see how that works out. Oh, and my new harmionic balancer - 4K miles- has the rubber working its way out. I should have a new Ford Racing replacement here tomorrow...
And Bill, one of the ownersof www.ffcobra.com is going to try to be there as well.

Well, today I went to replace my harmonic balancer that is coming apart, I pulled it off and found that the balancer has been balanced along with the entire rotating assembly. So I cant just put a new one on. Looks like I wont be racing tomorrow after all.

That's odd that your damper has been balanced. Balancing should be done without a harmonic damper in place ideally but since yours has a bob weight on the damper, I don't know. They shouldn't have drilled it though. Are you sure it had the right damper and that they balanced it along with the crank? It can get confusing picking out Ford dampers. This really sucks, I'm all ready to go tommorow and it looks like I'll be alone in AP. I hope you get your car sorted out, let me know if I can help.

Mike, I am puting the old one on and running.
The engine builder has the whole assembly balanced, and did the dampner too. I spoke with him today. The one side with the weight has three 5/8 inch holes drilled in about 1/2 inch deep. I put the new 50oz one on and it shook the car. The tough part is going to be finding someone to take the old part, figure out the balance on it, then balance the new one the same way. The builder says it can be done, I might wind up shipping both back to him....
Se you tomorrow.

Kip, congratulations on your win, you really drove well.
I was confused at the way my car would plow after letting up, it dawned on me on the way home that it must be the differential. I suspect it might be locked up as I'm into those sweeping turns and cause the car to want to go straight. And here I was making custom sway bars and installing spherical bearings. I'm going to find a differential guy and have a Torsen put in.
BTW, if you want to match drill the holes in your damper let me know, I can put some in the same size and depth if you want to stop by the shop some afternoon. Your engine builder should be slapped upside the head with a wet Salmon.
Randy, were are the pictures of your fish?

Mike,
I agree on the wet salmon part. I am going to try and have it balanced, but I might wind up going the low buck way and drilling the holes, I'll be in touch regarding that...
Here is a thread on the torsen,
http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/show...threadid=58416
I spoke with Alex (my co driver) to get a price for you, he says $429 for diff+carrier bearings(roughly $40). $85 for bench build and $250 for bringing car.
