Walter Mitty - when is it?
RGinn - I'll be up your way (across the street) on Saturday. Some SVO friends are coming in for a track event. Ya gonna be open? We talked about stopping in after the runs were over on Saturday.

The Mitty is April 30th and May 1st. Definitely a good time. I will plan on it.

The dates have been posted. You are welcome to park your cars over at the shop prior to the event.
Bud come on over... we were going to try the Noble across the street too. there is a car show for a local charity at Lanier on Saturday too! I've been told we can perhaps play on the track after to chilli cook off. Going constantly left may be too much for me.
The Mitty is great fun. We are also planning a trek to Watkins Glen which is featuring Shelby's, Shelby Mustangs and GT-40's
So anyone interested in car pooling (so to speak) details will follow. This month Amelia Island and Sebring will keep us in Fl. Panoz has promised us dates for Cobra driving lessons to so it should be a fun spring...

Will the Cobra driving lessons be open to others?
Or is this just a McMichael SPF event? Would love to hear more info if you'll let a poor ERA in the door.
Thanks!

As always this is a non-demoninational event. You are more than welcome to come. Bring friends, neighbors even Paris Hilton. The event is sponsored by HSR and there is always great vintage racing. The promotion is handled by Grass Roots Motorsports magazine and they do a great job of bringing the other events together. There will be a Mini-Cooper autocross area for you to try, lots of vendors, track tours etc. I'm doing the club thing because we get to take a few laps. If we escape the rain it will be super and just very fun if it rains. Rob

Sounds like fun!
Any idea which day that will do the car club parade lap? Probably can only get a kitchen pass for one day.
Also, any idea when Panoz will do the Cobra driving lessons class?
Thanks!

Scott, We are trying ( and have been for 7 months) to settle on the dates. They have promised two for Road Atlanta and one for Sebring. The biggest issue is cost. I want to do it at reasonable cost for the average Cobra owner. Say $500 to $700 for the weekend. The rental cost for the track is $10,000 + per day. So we are trying to fit this in with some other activity like the Audi driving experence. My contact has promised to get with me in the next day or two....we'll see.
Is anyone out there going to Sebring??? We have a corral going there too. Let Lisa know if you are interested in showing up. It located in turn one...very secure. We will try to keep everyone posted. Rob

Sounds like a good deal...
Rob,
If you can get me on Road Atlanta for a driving school for a weekend for those prices, then I'm definately IN! I was looking at several of the other multi-day schools and they all seem to be more toward north of $2 gs.
Keep us posted!
Wish I could go to Sebring, but my trip to Fla is set for Disney World with the 3 flying monkees! I got scared when the DJ on DAVE FM was doing an impression of the parents with small kids he saw at Disney. It sounded like the first morning is great when they're all wide eyed and then after 4 hours of sun, lines, and It's a Small World echoing in your ears, most parents tended to "loose it" and it was a contest to see who could pitch the biggest fit. Oh well, at least I should earn some "points" with the wife which I can cash in on the Mitty and driving course!
Thanks!
Scott
