Kirby & others;
While I'm not anywhere near Atlanta, this may help........... I go to the local Shell bulk plant, they sell three different kinds of race gas (100octane/110octane/112 octane) and methanol,it is all sold by the 55 gal drum....... they have VP brand as well as a local brand, local brand is about 50 cents a gallon less..............I picked up a drum this week of 110 leaded race gas for a whopping $3.75 per gallon, not bad when you consider 93 octane pump gas is about 2.30 to 2.40 here right now...........................
If you can not find any at the pump you may be better off getting a drum and using it as needed............
BTW; this very same 3.75 per gallon gas at the track is 6 bucks a gallon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

David,
Thank you for the info. I really need to find it at a pump because this may be a one time fill-up to offset some 91 octane that is in the car coming from California.

Kirby,
I moved in October but there was a shell station by me that sold the 100 octane stuff. In Alpharetta at the intersection of all the old antique shop. Crabapple Junction is the name as I recall. You may want to call them first to see, if it is long ride from where you are. Good Luck...

Kirby,
Not sure about the geography, but here are the SUNOCO GT 100 locations in Georgia.

David - How are you? I miss not having another Cobra fan around the corner. I was just by the Crabapple Shell station today and they still offer 100 octane but didn't catch the price.
Garry Grimes, among others in Atlanta sells race fuel in amounts ranging from 5 gallons to drums.

Kirby,
I feel your pain. However, I seem to have found an additive that actually works. It’s called Lead Supreme (Octane Supreme now), and I ordered from Batterystuff.com. As stated, it is straight tetraethyl (lead), but the bottom line is that it has worked very well for me. When I bought my Cobra, I thought my compression was around 10 or 10.5:1. As it turns out, almost 12:1 is more like it. No more chronic fouling of plug and dark exhaust since using it.
The below if from their site and seems to be accurate:
TREAT RATES R+M/2
0.6- Ounces OB-130 to 1 gallon/fuel……….2.0 point octane increase
1.2- Ounces OB-130 to 1 gallon/fuel……….3.5 point octane increase
1.8- Ounces OB-130 to 1 gallon/fuel……… 5.0 point octane increase
2.4- Ounces OB-130 to 1 gallon/fuel……….6.5 point octane increase
3.0- Ounces OB -130 to 1 gallon/fuel…….…8.0 point octane increase
6.0- Ounces OB-130 to 1 gallon/fuel……..11.0 point octane increase
18- Ounces OB-130 to 1 gallon/fuel……..16.0 point octane increase
Hope this helps.

You'll be surprised to learn their point system does not raise
octane levels as you may think, when they advertise a 2.0
octane increase they really mean from 93.0 to 93.2. You gotta buy
it by the case to make a noticeable diference.
A chemist with the state weights and measures department explained the best way to increase octane is to mix 2 gal.
toluene with 8 gal. of 93 octane gas, one gal. of toluene is 117 octane. I believe this will raise 93 to something like 98-100.
The oil compaines use toluene to raise their octane levels.

100 Octane at Shell
Shell station at Crabapple corners in Roswell. 100 Octane for about $5/gallon. Intersection of Brimingham Hwy (372) Mid Broadwell and Rucker Rd.
They sometimes turn to pump off so the SUVs won't accidentially fill up, so you may have to go in and tell the dude to turn it on.
Imagine the look on the Soccer mom's face after putting 50 gallons of 100 octane in the Hummer!!
...or better yet Dad's face when she gets home....

That's the big trick in the turbo 4 cyl world as well.
I'll give the same advice here. Toluene is used in the 'cooking' process of Crystal Meth. Several retail stores have it 'flagged' and will notify the local narc agents when it's being bought in bulk or bought routinely by the same person. Just sayin - don't be surpised if they bust your door in because you have quanities of Toluene, Red Devil Lye, Acetone, big bag of matchbook striking plates, and some diet pills/cold meds (just to name a few).

Laquer thinner is almost 100% toulene. 1 gallon of virgin thinner to 15 gallons of 93 octane gets you 98.3 octane. Do a search here, because this has been discusssed before. I have run the virgin thinner in my 66 GT350 for years without ill effect.

SST Motorsports directly across the street from Road ATL, and next to Rob Ginn's SPF dealership is a VP Fuels distributor. You can contact them for their various flavors they sell.

I just asked my wife (Electro-chemist working for GM) and she says the Lacquer thinner mix seems feasible. So my next question is will it harm fuel cell foam? I think I may give it a try.

427 S/O,
With most octane booster product claims, I think you are correct. However, I did quite a bit or research about 2 years ago and this company's claims seem to be accurate. Additionally, the below would be a clear-cut case of false advertising if they were referencing tenths of points. You may want to check it out.
HIGHLIGHTS OF OCTANE SUPREME-130
Contains REAL Tetraethyl Lead (60 grams per gal.) and other octane
enhancing components. (No substitute chemicals added).
Boosts Octane from 2–16 full points
(not 0.1 points but full octane numbers, eg. 91 into a 98 octane, etc.)
when added to fuel. Perfect for high compression engines to
eliminate engine knocking and detonation.
Protects and lubricates the valve train. 12 ounces of OS130 to 20 gallons of fuel provides the minimum amount of lead protection needed to maintain and lubricate engines designed to run on leaded gasoline. Perfect for vintage cars, farm tractors, etc.
A Superior Gasoline Treatment & Octane Booster that is EPA approved and registered for off road use.
TREAT RATES R+M/2______
0.6- Ounces OS-130 to 1 gallon / fuel……2.0 point octane increase
1.2- Ounces OS-130 to 1 gallon / fuel……3.5 point octane increase
1.8- Ounces OS-130 to 1 gallon / fuel……5.0 point octane increase
2.4- Ounces OS-130 to 1 gallon / fuel……6.5 point octane increase
3.0- Ounces OS-130 to 1 gallon / fuel……8.0 point octane increase
6.0- Ounces OS-130 to 1 gallon / fuel……11.0 point octane increase
18- Ounces OS-130 to 1 gallon / fuel……16.0 point octane increase
EXAMPLE: 18 ounces added to 10 gallons of fuel will turn a 93 octane into a 98 octane, 30 ounces into a 101 octane, etc. Guaranteed! Due to EPA regulations this product is for off road use only.

Red, if that is an exact quote from their advertisement, I'm going to have to call "BS" on them...if my arithmetic is right, that stuff would have to be approximately 198 octane to do what they claim. I tend to agree that they're REALLY talking about points (tenths) of a full octane number, or the Buick freaks would have already found it and posted it all over the internet.

In CT a 100 octane fuel is sold at selected gas stations under the Cam2 brand.
Maybe you can do a web search and see if it's available in GA.

VP Racing Fuel
Hi Kirby,
I contacted VP Racing Fuels and they gave me the name of Boyd Hagaman. His cell is 678 386 6954.
He sells it by the gallon.I bouht VP 110 (105 octane) and took up 4- 5gallon containers (Wallmart sell them for @ $4.99 each)
He is situated aross from the Dixie Speedway in the Dixie Mini Warehouse. Unfortunately it sells for $30.00/5 gallons.
Regards,
Mike
