CWizard 04-02-2006 07:26 PM

Hey Guys- Add me to the "want a trailer" list. I'm near Chattanooga.

tpiini 04-02-2006 08:51 PM

Are you guys looking for enclosed trailers or just flatbed haulers? I bought a simple flatbed hauler a few years ago brand new for $1,300.00 at a local trailer place in CA. I can't imagine they'd be any more expensive out your way.

Used trailers (enclosed especially) are hard to find. If your friends know, as soon as they see one they can let you know. Happened to me - I bought used the day the ad hit the paper because a father in law called friend/neighbor who called me. Check the shopper's bulletins- many folks don't advertise used stuff in the paper anymore - they want the free ads. Good Luck. PS -- enclosed is handy with a cobra.

Hey Gordon,

There are quite a few on Ebay. Also, up near the shop, a new trailer place has opened, RPM Trailers. 706-654-2882. They mostly have new stuff on their lot, but carry Haulmark, Pace, ATC, and a nice aluminum flat bed trailer. They're located west of I-85, about 1 mile heading towards McMichaels. Also, Country Boy Trailers in Alpharetta maintains an inventory of new/used, and there is a Pace dealer in Conyers, last time I was there, they had some used car haulers for sale.

Serpent Express works great for Cobras and was hatched in Atlanta.

CWizard 04-04-2006 04:11 PM

Yes, the Serpent Express has some good features, like low weight and a low profile with reduced wind resistence. For me, the major drawback for the SE is poor security. It's also small, so finding a spot for the wet bar is a challenge.

To answer an earlier question, I'm looking for a 20' enclosed trailer with hard walls.

Trailer queens

I can understand a real cobra being trailered to an event to race.

Why would you guys trailer kit cars, are they that unreliable?
or perhaps, y'all don't want to lose the rugs.

davidlee 04-05-2006 12:59 PM

tifosi,
I must admit I normally don't reply to a smart a$$ but I'll take exception to you.
First there are a number of us that don't have kit cars, but you probably don't know the difference. All of our cars are real. They are just not original. Second, most of these cars are high dollar and when we go to shows, races and ect. we want to feel that our cars are safe while we are in a motel. Third, most of these cars are roadsters with no top so if bad weather sets in we can keep our cars safe from the elements. I can't speak for others but mine is a new chasis, new engine and a new transmission, in other words a new car.
Mabie, if you ever own one you will understand.

Well said David. Those are the exact reasons I have an enclosed trailer. Plus, they are a nice place to store several sets of slicks and wheels.

What'saCobra? 04-05-2006 04:22 PM

Aw, be nice guys. Perhaps our darling tifosa has a Ferrari and was insulting us because he already uses an air-conditioned 18-wheel stacker with a proper lift-gate for his Enzo(s).

Wonder if we can sucker him into a pink-slip run? Daytona anyone?

DAVID GAGNARD 04-05-2006 06:10 PM

The reason I trailer my car to race events is so if it breaks or I brake something or God forbid, have an accident on track, at least I can get home and get the car home.....................

If you have ever done any racing you would know all about Murphy's law and how it applies to race cars and racing............................................ ......

PS: an enclosed trailer not only protects everything from the elements and adds a lot of security, once your home, it's also doubles for a one car garage.....................

No top, no roll bar, no hair, no rug. Car so old I ain't sure what it is. Just traded 03 PU so my tow vehicle is old 97 suburban. Hope we get to London without blown heads. That boy can't conceptualize a two hour ride with a BB. Probably belongs to the tuner nation.

Tifosi, what color is the sky on your planet? Get a life and quit posting stupid crap. Whats wrong with you?
