Some pics from the Mitty this weekend.
Ok, I was too busy having fun at the infield and didn't really even watch too much racing. This was the first time I've been able to get to the Mitty since 1999. I had a blast and can't wait til next year!! Hats off to McMichaels Motorsports for allowing me to hang out at their booth. Those guys are "top self" material.
Rob rolled out the newest addition to the Superformance line up. Let me tell ya folks, this thing is SUPER sweet - both inside and out!!
Rob offered to let me drive it, but I didn't trust myself to bring it back if I did. That's Mike Simard to the right. Yeah, we were both drooling over this car - as were anyone else to happened to walk by it.
Tom from Speed Tv's Dream Car Garage stopped by the McMichael's Motorsports booth and joked around for a while. Super nice guy.
The Rob gave Tom the keys to this 500hp Superformance Roadster and told to take it for a spin. Yeah come on!!

Here's some more ....
The Factory Five guys were out in force.
This was FFR's new GTM - uses a C5 Corvette as a donor. Wicked looking ride.
This was one of two very interesting Lotus7 cars. The other was being swamped by the 3 chuckleheads in the background. Both cars had a V6 Supercharged as powerplants. Don't you know these things will FLY!!
Couple Backdraft Cobras out of Florida.

Yeah, I'm right at 6'0" and I couldn't touch the back of the foot-well without stretching and scooting fwd in the seat. Overall - it gave me the feeling of something like a T-37 (training jet) where the seats are side-by-side. The interior puts you in very close proximity with everything - ie: you and the passenger better like one another - you can, with ease remove items from their door compartment. Rob made the comment that he used every bit of available space when he drove it, but he's a pretty tall guy.

Bud,
Where are the pics of the lolly-pop girls from the "print your pic on canvas booth?"
Here's a pic I snapped of Johan's stable - that's the Lola Bardahl Special barn find he restored. Dan Gurney won Bridgehampton in this car as it appears. When he had it an McMichaels open house last summer it was a red coupe.
Since I work for EDS, I'm going to send this one on to marketing and tell them to get with it and start sponsoring race cars again!
And finally, from the Year One autocross last weekend - yes it is alive! HSSS427 rides again!

Thanks to McMichaels for the hospitality and cookout! the GT40 really was sweet, it looks just right in person, no compromises in order to have a roll up window, it just begs to be taken out on a track. I would remove the AC though and use it as a wheel chock. It was a pleasure to meet svobud. Scott, that EDS #64 was the fast car in that group, what does EDS do? Does anyone have any info or pics on that F1 car that was doing 1:12 laps? It was way faster than anything else on track, after it came by the spectators would usually make comments and look at each other. There was a lack of Cobras on track, hmm....

Good time. Nice to see a few of the Cobra guys (and even you Bud ). Rob offered me a drive in the red SPF GT and I took it out with my son during the Year One show. What a hoot!! You need a cop riding shotgun if you own one of those things! A little less ventilation than I'm used to though .
The F1 car was amazing to watch come out of 10b and up the hill like it was shot from a gun!!

Mike - EDS is Electronic Data Systems. We make strange sounding little guys so rich they can run for President! (Ross Perot founded the company, sold to GM, GM couldn't take him so they bough him out, then GM spun it out on its own). Jokes aside, main business is information technology outsourcing.
Love the team name - Jade Pig Racing!

Hi HSSS427,
You wouldn't happen to have any more pictures of that Lola would you? I'm building an RCR Lola Spider and I'm interested in making it similar to that car. Really interested in any interior shots of the car if possible, or anything you have.
Thanks much,
Ron
