Atlanta Lunch - Dreamland?
Any of you Atlanta folks up for a lunch gathering? In years past, we used to do an occasional Dreamland BBQ gathering up near Mansell Rd. It's been quite a while and there appears to be a host of new owners in the area. I need to get a few more break in miles before the Tail of the Dragon trip coming up. Anyone interested, start chiming in so we can identify a time that grants the highest yield. Most of the old gang are "converts", so come on anyway.

Tony,
Depending on the date picked, I'm in. I travel a lot, but am home now, so this is a good time. Let's do it!!
By the way, I did a Tail of the Dragon drive three weeks ago. Great fun.

Will,
Yeah, made to the Tail of the Dragon with the Cobra. And yes, I did see the tree with all the broken bike stuff hung on it. Ate at the restaurant with the tree. Had a "Dragon Burger"!!!
There were four or five photographers along the run. If you do a web search for "Tail of the Dragon" you find links to where they posted them for sale. I was there July 14. One of the photographers was very good looking. Made it hard to stay on my side of the road!!
I hope to meet some folks at Dreamland. I don't really know many other Cobra owners.

Jack, sound good. Hey Atlanta, where is everybody? Bud, are you off this weekend? Saturday or Sunday works for me. I know some can only do one or the other. It doesn't have to be Dreamland, that's just the legacy. Anyone who's going on the upcoming Tail of the Dragon run, come on by. I'd like to hook up for the trip as opposed to going it alone.

I'm off on Sundays ... but seeing how it's 100deg today, what's the weather looking like on Sunday? 97-98 deg??!?! Holy hot potato Batman!! I'm kinda opposed to cooking up feet, pete and repete, and serving em with white bread and BBQ sauce.
Just sayin ...

Good point Bud. This heat is a pig fu__er.
I don't think it will be much better Sunday. Hey, it's August in Hotlanta.
An idea -- You're off Sunday. It's cooler first thing in the morning. If we did breakfast someplace first thing we wouldn't roast. We'd have the rest of the day for something else.
It's hard enough to get Atlanta Cobra owners together. Like herding cats. The heat doesn't help.

Becareful on the tail of the Dragon. TN police swarming all over it ticketing for very minor things. And everybody: SUs, bikes, tourists. Go to the Georgia Sports Bike main forum for pics and details.
Meeting for breakfast would work Sunday morning: much cooler! cb

Hey, I've been sitting here in Dubai where it's 106 in the shade. I had to run down to Oman on Saturday - 110 (there ain't no shade cause nothing grows there). 97-100 degrees is sounding pretty good right now.

Bud,
Re: Tail of the Dragon - I saw one LEO on the Tail. Sitting by the side of the road. I think they are looking for folks who cross the center line or are otherwise driving like an ass clown. The speed limit is set too low, so they could give anyone a ticket they choose. But I think they are just looking for the jerks. Sounds fair to me.

Don't fool yourself up there. It is reported that they are clamping down big time on EVERYONE, even for minor infractions. Let the driver beware!
Let's decide on a breakfast place for Sunday am. cb

I've been passing on riding the Gap for years because it had gotten too out of hand with too many people all jammed in one place. Half the stuff the website listed as 'harassing' is actual black and white letter law. Too funny.
