Giving Amsoil a try
I just sent my first order into Amsoil for a case of their Series 2000 20w50 synthetic racing oil and filter. With shipping, it's a tad below $100. Since I lost my mains at 12K miles before, I'm ready to try something new. I'm also running a solid flat tappet cam that was replaced during the rebuild. Perhaps the old Valvoline Racing oil wasn't cutting it. I'm amazed at how black my oil can get after 1,000 miles or so.
