Tail of the Dragon
I saw over on the FFR forum that a number of folks are queuing up for a Tail of the Dragon safari at the end of March. I went with them last year and it was a lot of fun. Any of you local folks interested?

Massive Interest Level
Guess by the lack of replies, no one is interested, but then again, that's the ACC. I contacted the Jag club to see if they had anything planned for this Spring, but they already have a full sked of other stuff. They are looking forward to the 3rd Annual Cats/Snakes tour in the Fall. Any local folks going to Deep South's event at Roebling? Have had one person ask me if anyone is interested in caravaning down to Savannah.

I'm going to the Roebling event. might do the dragon thing, but can't commit to it yet. As it gets closer I'd want to find a place to park truck & trailer, anyone have suggestions?

The dragon can be a dragon at times lol I have been there many times and the scenery is breath taking and plenty of fun things to do around there. It can also be the most dangerous roads on the planet. Motorcycles and cars coming into your lane as they try to take the turns faster and faster. First weekend I was every there , there were 12 crashes and 4 fatalities Lol def made you want to respsect the roads.

Times a wasting.
Tail of the Dragon run has been officially scheduled for next Saturday 3/29. I've been communicating with SVOBUD on the other forum. He's talking about heading up through the hill country over what I'm sure is a fantastically scenic route. Probably a morning departure from the Canton area. I went along last year and 20 or so cars showed up, including a real 289 car. I'll have to do some one-legged squats this weekend to prepare for some serious clutch action.

yessir .. I'm gonna ride up Hwy 515 to Blue Ridge - jump on Hwy 76, hook over to Murphy, NC - then on to Cherokee. Map says it's 180 miles for me from Acworth (bascally the start at I-575).
If anyone wants to meet up along the way, I'll stop at "Dunns Food Store". It's a Citgo station that sits up on a hill along the east side of Hwy 515 at it's intersection of Hwy 108 - just south of Jasper (about 30-35 mile from the start of I-575). Here's a close up map. I'll be there around 7:30-7:45am.

Good meeting place Bud, big parking lot and the start of the mountain atmosphere. There were two FFRs in Ellijay on Friday, not sure whose they were, but Jasper on up makes for a nice ride.

Thanks TC. That's my usual meeting place for me and my Triumph friends when we ride The Loop to Suches on the weekends. Easy to find. Plenty of parking .. and they even have biscuits and gravy if you're hungry.
right now - weather forecast looks like crap - 40% chance of showers here and NC. I'm gonna keep a keen eye on that for sure. The weather will be a deciding factor for me going. I've been rained on one too many times and I dont care for it.

I'm out. The weather is too shaky for me and I dont feel like driving in rain while being so far from home (anymore). I'll sit this one out.
