OK - SERIOUS car show July 12th
For those of you who have never been to Milton Robson's car museum at his ranch, this is an excellent opportunity to do so. I've seen broadcasts from his place on Speed Channel before. Milton's car collection consists of some one or two of a kind specimens (I'm guessing 50+ cars). The museum is spectacular as he took an old barn and turned it into an old town with a western saloon on one end and a 50's vintage gas station on the other. And Milton himself is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. All of this sits on a Ponderosa-style spread of some of the most beautiful scenery in the state. Go to www.ernestallenbenefit.com for details. The place is a little bit beyond Road Atlanta (northeast I believe). I'm going to try and get Bill Parham there as he's been waiting for an invite. Trust me, you local guys won't want to miss this one.

When I was test driving my GT40 I think I must have driven past his place, very nice indeed.

Milton's
Definitely a "do not miss" event. I toured the place recently and it's just amazing. I'd have to assume he's close to OwlGore's mansion for his electric bill keeping the place air conditioned!

Would love to go but already signed up for nighttime Autocross at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Damn!! Why does all the good stuff happen at the same time? Plus winged sprint cars at Dixie Speedway that night.

Don't forget - tomorrow's the day. Rain chance is WAY down. It's a very nice cruise to get there.

Milton's
That was some turnout, I think the organizers were surprised by it! For a show that was supposed to start at 4pm, well, the food was gone by then, seems like many people were there around 1 or 2pm. I'd estimate at least350 cars around the paddock, judging by the 20 minute backup just getting into his driveway. The clutch on the GT350 is officially toast with that 97 degree temp and sitting on a slight incline bumper to bumper. Nice to see a real 427 from Jacky Jones's collection on site.

I must say, I had no idea it would be that big. Fortunately, we got our chili dogs down before the pantry went dry. I wonder if Milton made a play for the Cobra. I heard he was in the market some time ago. That's one of the nicest pieces of land I've ever seen.
