The website talking about a '2004 MkIV CRS Cobra' is incorrect. As previously stated the Mk IV CRS was built in 2000 and 2001 at Brooklands, England and is well regarded by the AC Owners Club.
It should not be confused with the Maltese built Mk V which was built between 2005 and 2007, as far as I'm aware. A number of Mk Vs were sent to the US in roller form to be distributed by Autosport Designs in the US and others were sold in Europe as completed cars - 3 were sold by Clive Sutton in the UK after having to be almost completely rebuilt due to their poor build quality.
I would approach any incomplete Mk V with caution and drive a hard bargain.
Incidentally the Autosport Design AC webpage still exists - confusingly showing a photo of a yellow and grey MkIV CRS on the Mk V page. Autosport were also going to distribute a new version of the AC Ace but this never got off the ground.

The Mk V was the last attempt by AC to build its own cars. The current ACs are built under licence at Brooklands and Heyda in Germany and the new 378 Zagato and AC's version of the Superformance Mk11 / Shelby CSX 8000 will be built by Hi Tech in South Africa. Unlike the Mk V though, buyers won't have to worry about quality.
