Cam is ordered...
Went with Bullet Cams as I couldn't find the lobes that I really wanted from Comp. It's a billet solid roller, 260/265 @ .050", .714"/.694" gross lift, 109 LSA on a 105 ICL.
Heads are TFS Twisted Wedge R heads, which are going to get some 2.100" valves to help out in the flow area. Intake is an Edelbrock Super Victor.

Gary,
I am thinking about another project....how much for that old worn out 427 you have sitting around?

More info on the engine for sale since it is different than what you would get from Ford Racing if you went online and looked at the crate motors.

Nice, that is quite different from the online Crate specs.
Seems like a fantastic motor at a great price.
Is the car in Jersey or Florida?

Tasty cam B2! Are the heads better than 330 @ .600"?
If so you should really try a 1050-at least on the dyno. If you get near 700 (I think you will if the heads are 360 to 380) get Gary to use a taller scoop.
Think E'brock makes a 4500 single plane for it-cut the pad as much as you can.
We got 700+with our 18 degree heads (380 cfm) and 725 with CHI 3V's on our 427's and 460's.

AAAHHHH the bigger hood scoop...my nemesis. I have laid awake at night trying to design one that I like...that and trying to figure out how to fit 3' wide tires under my tiny little car

Respectfully Gary-it's a BDR-I don't think you're a 'correctness' freak.
Just keep repeating, '700, 700..700'..........

The heads will be close. It will get a Quick Fuel Q-950....I'd put it up against any Holley 4150 or 4500 1050. :-)
It's going to be a fun ride.

Since you had to change heads, why not go with a forced induction, maybe a single turbo? This will put the motor up around 800 or 900 on low boost at 93 octane vs maybe 650 NA.

Gary and I have discussed various options and theories at length. Forced induction requires EFI or a blow-through carb, which can pose tuning issues. Turbos require a full set of custom headers with custom piping, along with extra room under the hood. Blowers require the same.
Gary prefers the "higher strung" engines...I think he's just bored with the current engine being done at 5500-6000. He wants more power and a higher peak.
The end result will be a nice "hybrid" engine....and we'll aim for the perfect blend of street and race engine. The solid roller cam that I chose will require a seasonal lash check, but my no means is it a "spring eater" that will require constant maintenance. It will run on pump gas. It will not require constant carb tuning or rear wheel dyno sessions to get the tune correct.
My goal is to always meet the customer's needs and wants, and I spend a vast amount of time going over every single detail. Gary knows that he can change his mind at any time......and we have made a few changes already.

Should have some parts trickling in this week. Bullet hit my debit card, so they're shipping a cam. Heads are on their way to the head porter, intake is en route, block is ordered, Callies crank is ordered, Oliver rods are ordered, Isky Red Zone EZ Roll lifters are ordered, and custom Race Tec pistons are ordered.
I love the smell of new engine parts.
Also working on some custom valve covers....
