Mat, trust me, you're not the only one that has wavered on their part selection and decisions.....it makes for an interesting endeavor.

Custom Bullet billet solid roller bumpstick...

Oliver billet rods, 6.250"...

And Gary took a liking to this new Holley Ultra HP 950 carb that I had here...

brettco-I don't know, Brent can tell you...but, you can't put a price on the "Darth Vader" of carb's...I think it was like 850-U get the no choke discount

Brent, how do you like that Holly Ultra HP carb vs a Quickfuel, I think the Holly looks better, but is it better, would you choose it for an FE build over the Quickfuel...?

At this level of carburetor, either one would work really well, and we can infinitely tweak on them. It comes down to budget (Holley is more expensive) and what you want it to look like.

let us know how it works on the dyno, some of the guys on speedtalk were complaining of running rich at part throttle.

I read on speedtalk, that even though they both can be 950 in size the Quick Fuel actually has a larger venturi size than the Holley?

The older 950s yes....this one is called a "true" 950.

I like the performance I know the Quick Fuel makes, but I love that anodized gray look of the Holley, cool build.

holley hp has some nice features, such as the larger fuel bowls with molded in dam around the perimeter to keep fuel slosh down.

note: the distance between the fuel inlets is longer than normal, might require special inlet unless you make it or have it on hand of course.
