Can't do that when going from a hydraulic to a solid. Too many differences between the two.
Even when you think about actual duration......a hydraulic lifter is always in contact with everything. A lifter on a solid cam has to move a distance before the rocker arm makes contact with the valve stem.
Lobe shapes are completely different...solid roller lobes are more aggressive and the lift will be greater.

I'll take a stab and say 20hp.
Then when you switch intake to webers you'll lose 5-10hp at the high point but gain plenty through the middle.
Ehhh.... Just a wild guess, with zero engine build experience.... So don't take my word for it.

Peak torque rpm may not move, but I'd say peak torque will go down.

Checking in....
Cam is degreed and installed, timing cover, water pump, and oil pan are back on. Lifters have been grooved, washed, and installed. Got the heads all torn down, waiting on new retainers and some parts from T&D.
I'm hoping your engine will gain some performance by osmosis as well.....it's sitting beside of Jeff Lipton's 487FE, a 465 Tunnel Port FE, and a 428 CJ.

Forget the voodoo - that thing has plenty for what I am going to do with it.
Main thing is, it holds together - number one!!!
I am really excited about running it.

Cliff,
Why nervous? You did a ton of sophisticated work on chassis-I assume you have lots of track experience.
All Brent's engines have a throttle-you should only use what you're comfortable with.
You could add a throttle stop (as I did) easily to limit WOT until you're comfortable-in my case, to prevent over-centering the linkage.

What did you use as a throttle stop? Sounds like a good idea to get used to the car.

Hell No - but I did stay in a holiday inn express once. I enjoy autos and enjoy performance tech - I have been studying and playing with vehicle dynamics since the 80's - it really fascinates me. Skiied alot when I was younger and got thousands of miles on slippery surfaces (should have been jailed more than once). I finally got in a position to peruse on a track at some level and I am. My 5th driving event Sunday - can't wait.

The throttle really does not scare me. One of my goals was to try to build to the spirit and balance of the originals (289 FIA USRRC) - the ERA is an advantage (chassis) I realize, but still, I do not want to get too far from the power to weight balance of the originals.
