Default Poll.....What do you like best about your Cobra

I've wondered how many people have built ther own car compared to people who have bought or had someone else build their car. But then I thought more to the point, would be to know what people like best about their car, the build, the driving, the tinkering or the social apects of ownership.

It would sort of help me (and other newbies) gain some insight on the type of folks here at CC. Possibly even help us know which forum to post in.

I'm a new owner too and it's a tough question. I'm going to say that after 45 years of reading about one, I'm actually an owner, replica or not. May sound a little corny but hey. Cliff

I enjoyed the build.
Every winter I do a major change to my Cobra.
I love driving it all year.
I enjoy going to car show to meet car people and see others cars.
We have 16 Cobra in our area and we meet weekly. A very social bunch.

I did not vote in the poll because I could not check more than one.

Dwight

darn....I should have put in "all of the above". Not sure if there is an option to "check more than one"......I'm a Poll Maker Neophyte.

Guess I should answer my own poll. I liked building the best. Next I like tinkering and perfecting it. Driving it is fun, but I've never enjoyed driving through a populated area. Don't like being "gazed" at, although it's really the car they look at.

There was a group of young people gathered near the town liquor store early one Saturday evening, as they normally do. I drive by with my gray hair, and one young fellow yells at me "Way to go Old Man !!!" My GF just about passed out from laughing so hard.

All of the above, with the possible exception of racing it. If I had the opportunity, I'd run it on track days but we have none here it CT. Maybe in the future I'll run it somewhere, but I love all the other aspects of ownership, especially the build.

"...I could not check more than one. Dwight"

Dwight's right! There are so many things to love about the cars.
Of course, my perspective may be a bit different than most of you guys.
One of the best experiences I've had was when I teenage boy pulled up next to me at a red light in a late model Vette, and told me I was the coolest female he had ever seen!
That would never have happened in the Navigator...nuff said.

That's a difficult choice. We really enjoyed the building and all the planning that went into it.
Tinkering and upgrades are great. Helps pass the long winters.
Driving? Of course, who wouldn't enjoy that.
We've also made some wonderful friends through the years.
I answered "Satisfaction/Pride of ownership" because that kinda summes it all up.

For me, the best part was building it.

hmmm....the poll results are starting to build ..... Thank-you to all so far.

From the posts, I agree that it's hard to pick. Please keep in mind that to say you were most partial to the build, doesn't mean you don't like to drive it too. You're not letting your ownership down by preferring 1 thing a bit, even a "tiny bit", over another.

It may sound strange but climbing inside with the top on, smelling the the raw scents that is gives off & looking out over the long hood & fenders. It's like no other.

The look, the sound, the smell, the wind, the feel of the cloth in your hand as it follows the curves and swoops, the sweat in the summer and the shivers in the winter. The hunt and discovery of a problem and the satisfaction of the repair. A simple walk to the garage to assure myself it's really sitting there and it's really mine. Beyond that, not much.
