New to Club Cobra and Just Picked-Up FFR 7074
Hi all,
Thought I should register after lurking for the past couple of months, considering that I just picked-up my kit - FFR roadster #7074 this past weekend. Lots of good information and opinions here, so I look forward to a healthy exchange with all of you.
Details on the plans for my car: Semi-donor build using the 5.0 (converted to carb and old-style front cover), T5 trans, 8.8 rear, 13" & 11.65" brakes, and fuel tank from a '94 SVT Mustang Cobra. FFR options include powder coated chassis, three-link, tubular front lower control arms, manual steering rack, hood hinge, wipers, 17"x9" & 10.5" Halibrand-style wheels, Ron Francis wiring harness, rivet-on hoodscoop, aluminum radiator, and custom faced Speedhut vintage-style gauges in an S/C layout.
I did the 2200 mile round-trip to FFR this past weekend to pick the car up and had a great time touring the facility and speaking with Dave Smith. Now that the car is home, I'm ready to begin the build process and welcome your comments and suggestions. Although I'm an instructor for NASA HPDE (I have an ex-Bondurant car as my track-day pig), I doubt my FFR will see much track use. Instead, it'll be a country road cruiser built in the image of a vintage racer.
Later,
Chris

Congratulations!! You're in for a long term addiction. Keep us posted with pics of your build. There's a lot of help from a lot of knowlegeable folks on this site, so ask away. Oh, and see if you can let a day go by without logging on and lurking.

Two things.
1. Your garage is way to neat. But that will soon change.
2. You're going to need a bigger garage!
Don't forget to sign up to www.ffcobra.com. Lots of build help there.
Enjoy the madness!

Welcome Chris. One thing most Cobra owners face sooner or later is the urge to find out just what their car is capable of doing. I encourage you to take your finished car to the track to find out what your and its limits are. It's much safer to do that on the track than on the street. ... And good luck with the build.

My real problem is that my garage is way too small.

If you haven't already signed up at ffcobra.com do it as Jim mentioned. You won't run into a build problem/question that hasn't been asked over there.
Then get that garage floor dirty.

Can a guy have a big enough garage? Welcome! You have about 2 of my garages, by the way. Good luck on the build, you will always look back fondly on it.

Welcome and goodluck on your build. If you haven't done it already, attend the FFR build school. I went and loved it! And I didn't even build an FFR!

congrats, I also am a new FFR owner.
Although, due to my small one car garage & a great opportunity presenting itself, I purchased a completed FFR.
BTW, I love your garage, I prbably would of purchased a kit alot sooner if I had that kind of space.
