The official PAY IT FORWARD thread...
We need a PAY IT FORWARD thread. With tough economic times and the Holidays fast approaching, a lot of people could use a break or a hand out.
How does it work? Really simple...Clean out your garage with a part that you thought about selling, but considering its relative worth it's just better to simply offer a "freebie" to someone that could really use the component. The basic rules are as follows:
1. You're offering the item for free.
2. Recipient should be willing to pay for shipping, but the offering party can volunteer to cover that if they choose.
3. Recipient pledges to "Pay it forward" at some point in the future with another item for another Cobra enthusiast.
4. Don't abuse the privilege. It's an honor system.
5. Services may also be offered up...indicate City, State.
In the end, we help each other out and feel good at the same time.
I will get this started on the right foot. I'm offering up my clear (white) front marker lenses. Lenses only. Take offs from my Superformance. Retail for $20 each new. You cover shipping costs (will definitely be under $10). These are the Lucas brand winged type with chrome bezel.
Let's see how well this goes. We will collectively get out of it what we put into it.
Regards,
-Dean

I have both a 16 and 17 tooth driven speedo gear for a Tremec T600. Let me know if anyone needs them. I could send by next week and will even cover postage.

This is awesome! At this rate we'll be able to scratch build an entire car!
Keep it going, gang. And if you need any of these parts, don't be shy to jump in. It's all about needing it now with the promise that you'll pay it forward at a future date when you are able to.

I don't know what I can do or donate but I still have a (slightly used) turkey pan with a Holley (650?) in it. It was left over from one of the original "Flings" If you need one let me know. The Carb has been used too so I'm sure it will need a rebuild kit. All I ask is who ever gets it make a small-your choice- donation to Cystic Fibrosis. I will give you the address with the parts.
Now for those that are close enough or are willing to travel and your Cobra has a dinged/broken fender or the likes, you just buy the paint and I'll fix it for you. How about a free use of a heated shop for a week or so? Want to do a winter project, need help / tools? Well, here you go!

Well, I have been trying to sell the FE in the back of the barn...I'm in.
It is free to the person that comes and picks it up off my crane.
Ed, you can come and get this engine if it will help you.

Ed (DV) - I'd like to take you up on the offer of the turkey pan and carb in exchange for the CF donation.
In an effort to keep the "pay-it-forward" going, I'll also offer two pair of early 289 heads to whoever is in need of OEM castings. I can provide the casting numbers and dates if necessary.

Well, Ok THEN! The Turkey assembly will be counted as -gone!
The shop and/or body work is still viable if there is a need.
DV
PS..IF your Cobra HAS WHAT YOU consider to be a needed -major- repair, why don't you call or write me. We can discuss it. I aint talking fixing a road chip here!

Jim,
I'll take them. Can you find out how much it will cost to ship to ZIP 95336 and I can either Paypal you or send you a check for postage by snail mail. Might be able to put it in a flat rate box at the USPS.
I will PM you my complete adddress.
I will post what ever extra parts that I have here soon.
Thanks, Terry

Terry, They are yours. I'm not to fussed about shipping them to you. If USPS will need less than $10 I'll pick it up. You gave me one heck of a price on the top. (Shame that the CFO of the house didn't let me move on that).
Jim
