Didn't this car sell at the BJ auction recently for $400+K? Now listed on eBay for $600K.

Sorry for the repeat. I missed the prior thread....
Why would the seller think the car is worth $160K more only one month after he paid $440K for it? It's not like the BJ auction was run secretly and he "stole" it. The whole world watched and decided it was worth excatly what he paid.

Csx2568
Why is it that people are facsinated with what we will "get" for CSX2568? Yes, the whole world watched as we bought the car for $440,000. The whole world watches a lot of things selling for one price and being worth another. Most of the time its reverse, (people pay too much) but in this case, based on unbiased real opinions from REAL Cobra experts(as opposed to replica"wannabe" people), yes, the car was a gift at Barrett Jackson. So if you all pool your money, maybe you can buy it and share it on weekends. Someone is going to get one beautiful Cobra! By the way, its always nice to actually LOOK at a car before making ignorant comments on websites like this. Good luck to all of you, Owner, CSX2568

Owner....
You don't seem to "get" it, do you.
This is an enthusiast site, where people "discuss" their hobby. Watching the market on the vintage cars is part of that.
There really is no need to come here with a chip on your shoulder...these guys are going to chat about this, regardless.
You could join the discussion and enlighten some on how things progress on your 'flip'...or you could continue to act weirdly and make threats to people here. (..which is why we closed the other thread with your reply).
Your choice..choose wisely.
thanks
ron

Ron,
It appears I hit the nail on the head with my post above. Forwarded you what seems like a cut and paste of what Rodknock got in his PM from this dealer (as I just did).

Well for your sake, I hope the market has appreciated $150K+ in the last couple of months. I doubt it though....

No doubt. At $440, it's a fair price...

The pics sure make it out to be a nice car. And this site is full of commentary, useful or otherwise. Witness your reply....

This guy is something. He's got a little two-bit used car lot in Maimi where he's selling $10k to $20k beaters and he comes off with this better-than-thou attitude.
Add to this at least two misrepresentations in his ebay ad:
1. " first time in over 40 years that CSX2568 has been in public" Guess the BJ auction where he bought it wasn't public?
2. " car was never more than 100 miles from the city of San Francisco" hmmm . . . I coulda sworn Miami was more than 100 miles from SF.
Plus, more negative feed back as an ebay seller than you can attribute to the token overly picky buyer.
I hope he owns this car for a very, very long time.

Here is my latest communication with sfe1234:

I have given you ALL the info to contact me so why don't you be a real man(can replica guys be "real men"?) and contact me? You don't think I own the car so why don't you come over and I will charge you to take a picture with it? By the way, I never read this website until yesterday(check when I registered) but there are OTHER REAL COBRA OWNERS that are very upset that morons like you have a forum to spew venom without any knowledge or class. Get a life and enjoy your replica Cobra.
Look sfe1234 I will try once again to communicate with you. I agree with you on the “can’t fix stupid” that is why I won’t try to fix you. Why would I want to call and talk to you? You clearly have an attitude that no one wants to deal with. My belief was and is that the market value of the car is 440K. If you can find someone else is dumb enough to pay more than that for the car in the current market good for you. Why not report back if the car sells and tells us how much you got for it? Also it seems the only one spewing venom is you. You are the one who is putting off the holier that thou attitude. Maybe you should look into the mirror and assess who needs to change.
Good luck with the sale, FIA Mike
PS: I wouldn’t pay you a cent for a ride in the car. I’ve ridden in and driven several REAL Cobras (both USRRC and street 289’s along with street 427’s) and I can say none of them handled better than my ERA built 289 FIA roadster.

I hope the person that buys the '66 "Shelby GT350 Package" Mustang from them isn't put down as a "wannabe" Shelby owner.

WoW,
Bad attitude, no respect, $9K - $38k beaters, No class, 2 Posts......
Sounds like somebody that we really do not want around. He has a line of credit that he bought the car with and it has him sweating bad karma --- Well deserved.
We do this for fun...Some have replicas, Some have CXS replicas, Some have original CSX Cobras.
WE ALL HAVE RESPECT FOR EACH OTHER.
sfe1234 You just poisoned one of the best resource pools that exists for propective buyers for CSX2568.

Objectively speaking, the financial condition of this country (and the world) at this time essentially takes most of the qualified buyers and speculators (for a car of this type) out of the picture, unless of course the price is severely discounted. I've watched most of the televised auto auctions the last six/eight months and almost all the high-end cars are not getting close to what they pulled a year of two ago. It's just not a good time to sell off your investments.

You probably nailed it. Car speculation instead of house speculation. If you do both it could be costly.
I find it interesting that nothing he has said comments on how much fun it is to drive or the classic barebones exhilliration it generates...it seems to be all about the money.....or lack there of.
