Everyone always asks, "What is your favorite vehicle you have ever made?" I think it is this one. My wife came to me with a sketch and 2 days later we built this sleigh. Her sketch even included the teddy bears.

I turned the exposure down in this shot so you could see the really beautiful glow of the wreath displays in the background.

What a great cause. Thanks from the Doak family to the Kirkhams.
David, I hope the car is at the Expo Center tomorrow evening so I can show it to my two girls. They are perfoming piano recitals at the Festival and unfortunately my oldest (10 years old) is way too familiar with the services offered by Primary Childrens Hospital.

Jim,
The car will be there all week. I will be in an out.
When will your daughters be playing? I'd love to hear them play. I do love to play the piano. What will they be playing?

The Festival of the Trees has the most amazing trees you will ever see in your life. In encourage everyone to bring their families and see the trees. What a beautiful place to be. Last night after we finished setting up the car and sleigh, I walked around and looked at the trees with my wife. So many people put so many hours into their trees. The car faded into the background as we walked past trees dedicated to children who had lost their lives and others where children were fighting for what feint strands of hope they still clinged to. Trees were decorated in their honor with the proceeds going to the hospital. It really was an honor just to be there among them.
I have been in the position of many of those children at Primary Children's Hospital. I know what it is like to stare at IV lines. I know what it is like to stare death in the face. Yet, I survived; here I am. There is always hope. But hope doesn't come in magic rainbows; hope has to be brought in the door by those who are willing to carry it. Perhaps the car can help some children to have a brighter day. My hope is it will inspire others to give whatever they can. Perhaps when people see themselves in the polished reflection in the car, they can see they are not hooked up to an IV; they are not in a wheel chair; they are not faced with a devastating illness, or the loss of a child. Any one of us could be one of those children in the hospital--but for the grace of God.
As we walked through the trees, I thought how insignificant our cars really are in the grand scheme of things. You could crush one of our cars, yet we can always make another one. Crushed lives are an entirely different matter. Then I thought better...how grateful I am to our customers who really are the ones that make our business possible. Thank you all. Please give this year to your favorite charity and help to make the world a better place for us all.
David

Hey Dave,
The sleigh turned out very nice along with the rest of your display!
I always knew the Kirkham quick jacks were strong but I never thought of using them to pull a sleigh?
How is the auction coming along? Any updates?
Todd
Maybe I better change my team stripes to red & green for the holidays?

They're supposed to begin sometime after 8:00 pm. Our 6-year-old will be playing "Away in a Manger" and "We Wish You a Merry Christmas". Our 10-year-old will be playing "Pat-a-Pan" by Bernard de la Monnoye.
Hope to see you there.

A hearty congratulations. $120K is awesome. Impeccable work on both the car and the sleigh.

That's great. The buyer sure has the hospital in his thoughts when forking over that amount. Good on him!
