Boys, Boys! The entire show is a joke and not real. It's "show business" at it's worst and these reality TV shows are all crap....nothing in this is real.
I worked in this industry and nothing you see or hear is real, the sponsors pay for everything in the budget. The cobra body looked pretty new and what about the csx id numbers, registration, all the phony talk and bidding, "it's worth $60'000.". " I'll take $30,000."
It's just crap TV...sort of a stretch to say the least.

I think the show is great from an entertainment point of view. Remember it is not a documentary. It is a reality show that follows the typical Hollywood reality show script.

Just take it for what it is. As far as the cobra goes, it does seem very scripted and convenient. I am sure many of the other featured items are scripted as well, we are just not as knowledgeable about them so it is not as obvious.

The Crabs are real, but the profit from the "TV show" is the real catch, so the poor crab fishermen won't be losing too much money if they only catch two or three spiney creatures.

Not everthing we see is authentic, but most stuff is sort of real and we love it.

Like the one where the guy called in and wanted to pawn his truck and then drives in with a $100K Toyota 18 wheeler tractor that has more room than my house and everything you need to live. And he wants $20K for it.

I watch a few of these shows but they are all so scripted that it is obvious. Same for the AxMen series. I watched it but there are many things on it that are obviously done for TV.

They took the only REAL show off long ago. Garfield.

Bob,

The so called reality TV shows have to be made up. I don't watch any of the so called survivor series but have a friend who really thought they were great. I asked him what was so great about a phony show and he actually thought that the people on the show were in real danger and alone in those places. When I asked him if they were alone or stranded on some island, just who did the filming, he really got this strange look on his face. He has since quit watching them.

I've watched several episodes of Pawn Stars, thought it was rather interesting myself. Of course the Shelby bit was a hoot, CLEARLY either scripted or these folks are truly idiots, take your pick. Some interesting and cool stuff comes through the store though, I like it.

Survivor? Heck I never miss a show! I don't watch it for the "danger" aspect, pffft, plenty medical aid available just behind the cameras. I like the interpersonal relationships, the scheming, the planning, the back stabbing, the high moral decisisons that may or may not lead to your doom. I especially like those episodes where the "back stabbers" get busted and the folks who maintained a certain "morality" are able to rise to the top. Primary question: Is it OK to lie because it's only a "game"? The rules of ethics sure get bent along the way, fascinating.

Ernie,

Now that you are firmly planted in Oregon, you need to take notes from the survivor and AxMen series. Just remember that you don't have all the aid just behind the cameras that the show actors have. What I was getting at about that friend of mine is that some people actually believe these shows are true and factual. They just never think about if they were actually stranded somewhere by themselves, how did they get it filmed for TV. And there is some pretty neat stuff on the Pawn Shop show if it is real and not just props.

Bob,

First he has to get used to the Oregon weather. Right now he is in survival mode staying in the house a lot.

Bob,

Where is your Global Warming? Boy am I happy that I don't live back East any more. I really don't think I could adjust to those Winters at my age. When I was young and the Earth was being formed, we adjusted better.

Ron is right!

That Vegas builder pulled a fast one on those Pawnstars....
Did they make 64 427 car? LOL
Car went in as an aluminum base and exited a fiberglass finished car.

Bet they taped it in one day..... Fast commercial free version of the show: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MTbEdrW2Sc
