Ask Santa for a SAAC Registry
Ask Santa for a SAAC Registry
(Print this out and leave around the house or mail to the North Pole)
Almost every thread on Club Cobra about some detail of an original Cobra eventually has a post with a reference to the SAAC World Registry of Cobra and GT40s. This book is the definitive source for all the details, the facts and figures and history associated with these cars. The current edition, with over 1600 pages, encompasses all things Cobra, as well as hundreds of pages on the GT40.
More than just a reference by serial number, the SAAC Registry has hundreds of pages of articles about features, history, racing and special models.
The heart of the SAAC Registry is the detailed history of EVERY car by serial number called "Footnotes," compiled over more than thirty years by the SAAC Registrars.
What was the original color of CSX2xxx?. It's there. ...Where is CSX3xxx today? It's there. ...Who drove the P-xxxx GT40 in what race and where? It's there.
Take a look at these page shots.

Yes, I check it and read it all the time, though mostly just to check out the listing of my KMP in the Kirkham section.

I would like to own a copy of the book and think it would be a great gift to ask of the family since they never know what to get me. How often the book is updated. I believe the Registry includes the Kirkhams and others and I'm curious how you get your vehicle in the Registry and when the book is updated to include new inputs?

About every decade +/-. The last registry was 1997.

...keep trying. He is on the road a lot and does not see his registrar-addressed mail for periods of time.

Bob,
Looking in mine I see all Shelby Cobras, original and present, AC and Autocraft Cobras, Kirkham Cobras, and Superformance. I may have missed some as I never looked at the index.

For clarification, the SPF's in the registry are the GT40's and Daytona Coupes, not the Cobras.

As a clarification, the last registry was not published in 1997, but in 2008, and that is the book being discussed here.

Ned, I should have said the last complete registry was published in 1997, which included the Shelby Mustangs, etc.

Hi Ron,
Do you know in Kirkham sent in information all the chassis numbers they sold?
I am curious if my #318 was included as I didn`t fill out my form

I just bought one of those books but now I have a hernia, happened when I went out to the mail box to bring it into the house.

Kirkham
Ron: is it too late to get one by Christmas? If it's not a bother, could you please check to see if KMP0028 is in there? I sent my information in more than once, but don't remember who asked for it. (saac, kirkham, who?)
Thanks,
Ted
