Garage space?

I recently ordered my Antique & Collectibles frame packge and was wondering how many if any have built their cobras in a one car garage? Mine is 20x10.5 and i am hoping it will be ok. The good thing is i am getting the frame first to make it a roller and I can get the body when i am ready.

You are going to be walking all over yourself but it can be done. I did mine in an oversized 2 car garage an barely had enough room. I hope you have room in the back yard to store a few things.

Will you be able to open the drivers door fully in a 10.5 space? Just wondering for after you get the body on.

I just went and measured and you can open both doors fully in a little less than 10 1/2', so if you parked a little off center you could open the drivers door with no problem assuming your car isn't extra wide. Another thing is how far do your doors open. Some open farther than others depending on how they are designed. My doors on mine opened farther than the original type does.

I have not done it, but I am sure it can be done. Make use of the walls and wasted are between the garage door rails and the wall for storage.

Keep everything in boxes and do not remove items that you will not need til the end.

Plan your project out carefully and you should be fine.

However, if it rains or snows it then becomes difficult to move around with the door close.

That is an extremely challenging space..
I have seen it done, but you will have to host a lot of parts somewhere else....backyard, living room etc.

10X20 with a 7 foot ceiling, yup, been there, done that. The trick is to hang whatever you can from the ceiling rafters as close to the walls as possible to give yourself room to move around the car.

Ah, living room, thats where I built my side oiler.

...that was followed by new carpet because the original NEW carpet was pretty well trashed by the time I finished the motor. BUT, it was very very cool having that motor by the couch, watching TV, put some parts on, take them off again, it was a blast. Best if your single to use this technigue.

I did it in a similar space. You will want more room. Just be careful & Patient & it can work out. How much of the build are you doing? Body work? Engine work?

It will be tuff, but if you really preplan and organize your build everything will go much easier. Build some storage prior to getting the car, make a frame to roll the chassis in and out of the garage/ driveway. Build a "body buck" for the body with wheels...roll it in and out of the garage/ store outside.
You get the picture...organize and be patient.

It's gonna be a rolling chassis first the. I'll get crate motor and tranny and I will get the body and interior last

As long as the body is not taking up floor space,sounds like you have enough room, albeit tight at that.Have fun.Remember patience!
