Default Halon fire extinguisher (best price)

I am looking for a Halon extinguisher to put in my car. I just want the handheld extinguisher, not a hard plumbed system. Does anyone know who offers the best price? Thanks, Brian

They're all expensive, in part because Halon can no longer be produced - there's a whole industry in recycling it from one system to the next. Around $125 for a one-pounder is likely the best you'll do.

The chrome Halotron unit I have in my car ran me about a hundred bucks. It looks like now you might have to pay about $115 for it. Halotron is the new replacement for Halon.

You'll also want to find a local source where you can buy it. Summit, Jegs, etc. will charge a hefty premium to ship via UPS.

Check Griot's for good pricing.

But consider this, if your cobra is on fire, immediately throw the extinguisher through the windshield and pray that you did your homework on an actual cash replacement insurance policy.

This was the best price I found and the one I bought earlier this year. The Halon fire extinguisher is at the bottom. Halon is supposed to be a bit more effective than Halotron, but less enviro friendly. But supposedly once you have the bottle you can get it recharged. They just can't sell new bottles of it anymore, so anything out there is existing inventory.

I got my 2.5 lb chrome halotron from Bethania Garage. The price was the lowest at the time I was checking.

I just saw that I forgot to post the link, oops. It was also Bethania Garage.
