Mecum's Kissimmee auction on HD Theater on 1/28
If you didn't get enough auction action watching Barrett Jackson over the weekend, Mecum's Kissimmee, FL event will be on HD Theater this Thursday 1/28 through Saturday 1/30.

They're not promoting any "once in a lifetime" vehicles. Looks like a lot of solid cars. Just fun to watch and FF through when I get tired of looking at Corvettes.
I'm not quite through the last day of the BJ auction, but some of the cars sold at great prices.

Doug, I turned it on last night, flipping back and forth between the Gonzaga-Santa Clara basketball game, and all I saw was a couple of mid-90's Pontiac Firebirds, a '55 T-bird, a '56 Ford Truck with a 460, '79 Pontiac Trans Am and a 1986 Monte Carlo SS.
I stopped flipping back and forth and watched the Zags win.

I guess you missed the never ending string of Corvettes and Chevelle's.
A lot of crap rolled through on Thursday. There were some good deals on entry level cars for people just getting started in the car hobby.
Mecum will feature a higher caliber of cars on Saturday, but it's still not for everyone. My taste in cars spans the spectrum. If I had the room and the bucks, I'd love to own a 32' Ford Five Window, an early 60's Lincoln Continental Convertible (still a bargain), retired NASCAR race car...and the list goes on.

After I saw the cars thatwent through while I was watching, my interest waned. I'll try to watch again tonight and this weekend.
It's amazing that the announcers were pumping up these cars as being super fast and bunch of other hyperbole. They called a mid-90's Pontiac Firebird GTA "stupid fast."
When they were discussing the 460 in the '56 F100 truck, one announcer asked the other (I'm paraphrasing):
"Why do you see so few 460's?"
"Because the 428CJ's and 429's are cheaper to build more HP with."

Saw a few Cobra replicas go through last night...they sure get the attention. The FIA was pretty cool!

I'm auctioned out. Only an hour left tonight. I might set it up to record tomorrow's but I'll scan through it for the ones I want to see from the list. One being the CSX6000 car and a couple of the GT500/GT350's.
