Yes, but where GM added innovation was it was available in colors other than Federal yellow.

Maybe in the future, there will be Birthday Parties for the Saturn, Aztec from Pontiac, the upside down bath tub designed Chev Impala, Chev Turboglide auto transmission with GR ( Grade Retard ), Vega, etc., etc

You can always look at this site or do a google search first, that's how some of us support U.S. manufactured goods.

CTS of Elkhart, Indiana is this US company, but they're making them to Toyota's engineering specs.

I offroad with a bunch of Jeeps, and the guys with CJ's do just fine. Any short wheelbase vehicle with a high center of gravity is going to roll easier than a car, but I still think the rollover issue is exagerated. My.02

The show I watched (I want to say Mythbusters, but I could be wrong) could not duplicate the problem.
Here is an article with some facts...

I have no clue what's defective at the moment. I heard software, floor mats and the thingee made by CTS. Something is bad, no disagreement there, but what?

I don't doubt you.But the fact remains that taking a design(the Jeep) that was NEVER intended to surpass 40 mph and then put a bigger engine in it and let physics dictate top speed was a bone-headed idea.
ANd it must have been a problem as Jeep?Chrysler sh!tcanned their biggest seller-the CJ series.

A little trip down the auto recall hall of shame.

"Toyota recalled as many as 3.8 million cars worldwide due to floor mats that could cause the accelerator pedal to get stuck to the floor.
But wait, there's more. Ford just added 4.5 million vehicles to the 9.6 million recalled in 2008 due to a faulty cruise control switch that could catch fire. Do the math - that's 14.1 million cars recalled."

I drove a 79 CJ5 V8 for years and never had a problem. I also remember one of those D/A "expose" kind of shows trying to film a chebbie truck with those "horendously dangerous" side saddle tanks explode. So just to make sure they got what they wanted they wired in model rocket engines to make sure something would give them the blaze that would give them ratings. I dislike chebbies and even I thought that was the worst crock of **** since Geroldo Rivera digging up Al Capone's buried treasure. Imagine what those idiots would say about a GT40!

I can help you out with the receiver, Sunfire or McIntosh. The japs got 'nuttin on Bob Carver. The McIntosh will give at least 30yrs. service.
If you think the Japanese are immune to the same arrogance and indifference to the customer that plaged the US corps. take a good look at Japan Airways and Sony. (among others)
I've seen the problem with the defective gas pedal, it's a design problem. The concept of the friction block is wreckless and stupid. It's only purpose was for "feel", a stiffer or extra return spring would have worked better. Never, ever, ever delay throttle closure.

The Pendulum is swinging back and we are more than happy to help it along. This year we are buying two Ford Transits and we only purchase American Made tools and our products are only made with American raw materials.

First of all, I mean a Patriot will always support American values and products when possible. Unfortunately, it's almost impossible to do this because we've sent most of the manufacturing over sea's to reduce operating costs and remain competitive.
If we (the people) started demanding products made in America, by Americans and not buying so many foriegn products, our companies might get the message.
This concept is a basic approach to solving some of our problems, as far as recalls..they will always exist unless we go back to riding horses.
( of course horse saddles could be recalled too.)

They have ruined are economy , strip use of are future and left use in debt to the very people that destroyed us. Not one could answer or would speak ; they when to a commercial and did not resume after the break.
