Could you big block guy's help me out please,
what dipstick do you use with the 427 aviaid oil pan?
It looks like it uses a compression fitting.

You can use the Galaxie dipstick or any that will fit your tube but it has to be calibrated (adjusted to length). Start with the pan empty and add as many quarts as your minimum and calibrate the dipstick to read min, fill to capacity and calibrate to read full. Be sure to check for your other components after running as remote filter, oil cooler, accumulators and lines all add up to a big volume. Do a search and see what capacities guys have with the same components as yours.

I used a $9.95 Mr Gasket chrome universal type for a (gasp) Big Block Chevy. Bought it at my local auto parts store. It has a tab that fits the alternator bolt, and I used a short piece of rubber hose and a couple of hose clamps to attach it to the nipple on the Aviaid pan. Works like a charm. Don't forget to block off the old dipstick hole in the block near the oil filter attachment pad.
