Default Trouble getting parts from local NAPA?

Called my local NAPA to check on a new FE pilot bushing, p/n BRG B50HD.

http://www.napaonline.com/Search/Det...0HD_0075427722

I was told the store didn't stock it, the distribution warehouse didn't have it, and they couldn't order it. The only place they could find one was the Columbus,Ohio store, and I would have to pay the UPS shipping charge to have it delivered to my local store.

I thought this sucked. What has been your experience?

I feel that if I have to order it, I'll do it from one of the CC supporters.

To give NAPA credit, the parts I have needed for my daily drivers have been stocked or available next day from the warehouse.

Very few businesses these days stock parts that aren't needed often due to the economy. I would think that FE parts fall into this category. Since they have been responsive on all your other needs, I would cut them some slack and get the part along with the UPS charges if necessary.
I have started using NAPA much more lately as they have a much more professional attitude, better grade of parts, and can even find a part without having to have year/make/color of car first.

Default Rodger try here

RodgerH Rodger the top 3 places with the correct part would be Gessford Machine, Keith Craft Machine, Barry R. and maybe Brent Bylkins. One of these guys should have the correct bushing. That is a single piece one, not a multi made one. Your choice of bushing or roller bearing will be the only option. Rick L.

That's weird. I buy FE bushings from them all the time at my local store. I can also get them from Autozone and Advance Auto Parts.

RAM clutches also has them and if someone buys a clutch kit and wants a bushing too, I usually just ship them one from RAM.

I have the local guys on at NAPA. Tell them it stands for never a part available, but I can have one next tuesday. They're good guys and do what they can but the parts numbering system is a chore. Rock has cheap and available parts if you know what you're looking for as does Summit with a good search engine. The guys at the local store who help me track down a part and identify a source always get my business first though.

Hey Steve,

Thanks for the offer! I told my NAPA store this morning to get it from Columbus. Should be there around 10AM tomorrow.

Our NAPA store is pretty good about getting parts. And if they can't find them in another of their stores in Redding they will get them from Franklins Auto Parts which really has the best supply of parts in this area. They also have their own machine shop and can make a lot of things that may not be available any more.
