Well, I would agree that you have indeed taken mediocrity to perfection.

I was trying to say for the most part I am the worst customer anyone can have, very picky, very inquisitive, very condensending, very retailitory soooo if I recommend someone unless you are like moi, very unlikely, you should be very happy. Without that being said when I finally get something the way I want it I am very very happy.

Case in point I thought the next cobra would be a Kirkham and perceived it was the pinical of all cobras outside a "real" one, looked at a couple Kirkhams and realized now that the SPF is they way I like it, (Zero issues, flawless paint, excellent drivability, right color for me etc) why start over and if it does not satisfy my Cobra needs no Cobra probably will.

I used to flip (buy and sell used) Cobras just to pay for the hobby but with the current economy that party is over but I was lucky enough to own a couple different makes and understand the basis of their design etc.

Ron is much too clever than to allow you to play him.

Even Jamo dragged himself into this fray-er, thread.

Ron NEVER plays or gets played...

If we had a opinon poll, what would stop someone posting when they don't even have that model or had one along time ago and wanted to rant and rave? How do you sort out who gets to post on which kit or model? Seems most foolks can read and search well enough and use the pm's to ask questions if some doesn't want a public opinion stated.

After reading the comments I think for the most part it's not practical. The cars are changing all the time. Unlike production cars that have year models, you really would not know what was being rated. It may be more accurate to rate the company, but company management changes all the time. Who would know that that guy that just left was the key to the operation.

I think one thing that new buyers need to understand is that there are a lot of problems known that are not out in the open. You may be buying a car that you are the first to own where a change was just made. That change may have been tested or not. It may have been engineered, or just a guess. You may be the RD guy, but just don't know it yet.

There has been some good advice given. But also remember, the guys that you think are the experts may have never built a car or are an expert with their car only, that has been changed considerably. I think in addition to visiting the business you should ask for the names and numbers of the last ten people that bought the car and really talk to them. You may have to look hard to find the secrets! There is a 2,000 pound elephant in the room and the King has no clothes.

Thanks for your comments.
Wayne

A great idea, should also have a comment section.Leave it open so that the unpopular kits could be inserted into the survey,as long as they are still available.
