Default Worthless Tire Thread

When my Goodyear Bill Boards finally got SO bad I was forced to buy what ever I could find NOW because I was leaving Hawaii real soon. Having heard how worthless the T/A's were I went with Goodyear GT-11's. There pretty worthless as well, they got NO traction.

BUT,,, these tires are a riot! They leave big black rubber marks without even trying. They are excellent for practicing "throttle over steer" and kicking the rear out in a corner at relatively low rpm. I just play with throttle to KEEP the rear end out.

Such tires would be down right dangerous to a new Cobra owner, or one who has yet to appreciate just how fast these cars can get away from you. But with some experience, by golly they are FUN!

I'll order a set of Bill Boards again in due time. Right now I just ordered the Goodyear SLICKS and am having them hand grooved for at least an appearance of "legal" while I drive to the track.

It's nice having two set's of wheels. One for race tires and one for street tires. I'm gonna miss the GT-II's when the Bill Boards come in. To bad I don't have three sets of wheels, one more set for "drifting" on the GT's.

Darn, typo in the headline, this thread has no worhts, really....

Mine had the GT II's on it when I bought the car. You are correct, they are "Worhtless" tires.

And they can be dangerous. I found that they do not give much warning when they are going to break loose in a corner.

"Fun" though they be, I to have noticed there is little or no warning when they just let go on seemingly good, dry asphalt when you DON'T expect it. So even with experience I still consider them dangerous for the street.
