1998...wifey wants a new dining room set. I want a Cobra (about to purchase the Butler, my first one). She wonders out loud whether the dining room set would make more sense than a fast car. I told her I agreed with her, and got her to sell her beloved black 96 Impala SS to get her new dining room set.

She was the one who told me to buy the Kirkham a few years later.

Wives either get it or they don't.

In this economy, if you can't get a new roof, A/C unit, patch the fence and buy a really good, low mileage "pre-owned" Cobra all within a budget of $70K, then you just aren't looking hard enough. And there are plenty of well-sorted out SPFs in the mid/high 40's all day long. And they don't use refrigerator parts (Patrick is an azz and he (and everyone else on CC) knows it. Just look at his dual roll bars and that speaks volumes.).

Yeah, but he's consistent. Ya gotta admire consistency.

And I didn't make it up either. I was politely corrected off line that it is BDR, and not SPF, that uses a freezer door. So, my apologies to the SPF crowd. Here was a post I was sent: Passenger door will not open on my Backdraft

Funny or not, it was inappropriate, uncalled for, and just shows to how deceptive Patrick will go to slander the SPF brand. I don't understand his beef other than he's a devout ERA owner and (most) everything else is chopped liver when compared to it. He's already been pulled to the carpet once by the Admins for this level of behavior and it's too bad that he doesn't get outright sent to Banned Camp for continuing his chest beating when he has nothing to gain and subliminally inserts false information just to either get a reaction or discredit another manufacturer (who if I recall, BTW, is a supporting sponsor to CC as well). He adds no value to this particular discussion, nor to any other thread when he's not staying on task.

Truly pathetic.

Nice try...they were discussing BDR's.

You are a real tool, Patrick.

Patrick, you've crossed the line way too many times. For a guy that is actually very informative and seemingly intelligent on technical and mechanical matters, you really love to skate into the grey zone in other areas. And I, for one, have had enough of your BS.

Hey how about that Maslow? Gee, I haven't heard his name since college, I think Psychology 101. Boy, I hated Psychology. Now Art Appreciation was pretty cool. Sit in the back in a dark room with your eyes shut. Good napping time.

DANGER, the Roush 427R is a rock'em sock'em engine. Blue is an outstanding color on the Cobra. Negotiate your best deal and buy it!

Just for comparison sake, here's a royal blue SPF with an aluminum Shelby FE block, asking $70K:

http://www.cobracountry.com/cobra4sa...kendall-va.jpg

Not affiliatied. Claims to have $60K in the engine alone, which even it did come with stack injection, it would still sound like a lot of money for an FE.

Did she go for a ride? That is what sold my wife. She loves riding in the Cobra.

Just make sure she doesn't burn her leg on the sidepipes.

My vote would be to use the $70,000 to do it all. Seek out the deals and I'll bet you can find an excellent SPF and atleast save some serious money on your roof as well.

Remember most Cobras don't get used much and don't sit out in the weather. There are many around in showroom condition that would appear to be new.

I just had some roofing work done any the difference was huge from high to low bidder. Just make certain you know what you are getting and check out the roofer. The AC and the fense may not have such a large spread between bids. Good luck and let us know what you do!

Was it determined who had the better door latch ?

The SPF with the refrigerator latch or the BDR with the freezer latch ?

Ok. I'm not going to go back and read this thread. What kind of "superior" latch does the ERA have?

Doug, you don't have to read the whole thread, just scroll back to where RedB. tees off on me for an innocent mistake.
