Default New Hoosier Slicks for Cheap!!!

I just ordered some slicks for my Cobra and I found that Hoosier Tires has some of their Discontinued Tires on sale for 2/3rds off and free shipping.

On my Cobra I prefer to run the Hoosier F-45 Asphalt Slicks which makes my Cobra handle like it is on rails. For those that might be interested I run 27X10X15 Rear and 27X8 X15 Front. These tires actually measures 83" circumgrence or 26" tall:

From Hoosier (https://www.hoosiertire.com/ecommerc...sp?SubCatID=17)
8.0/27.0-15 F-45 (Late Model Asphalt Slicks) pn #37130F45 $55.00 ea.

From Smiley's ( http://www.smileysracing.com/cat/sea...b&subCatID=187 )

27.0-10.0 15 3045 (Late Model Asphalt Slicks) pn #107203045 $149.95 ea.

Only the fronts are on sale at Hoosier but the regular cost is $149.00 ea so I am saving $200 on the set plus free shipping from Hoosier Tires.

My editor and good friend Rick noticed that I had put 83" diameter...I hope you all knew I meant 83" circumfrence?

A couple of years ago I bought a set of R6 radials for the race car, regular price was right at 200 bucks a tire, got them for 50 bucks each, shipped to my door.....during the middle of the winter, said they had a warehouse full and was overstocked and needed to unload them.....

Wish I'd 2 or 3 sets at the time, next time the tires I use come on sale like that I will get more than one set.....

I would like to have found that deal. I just ordered me some from Hoosier and the rears from Smiley's. I saved enough to pay for my fuel to RNG in September.

I was checking the Hoosier site one cold, rainy winter day and ran across the sale, seems the middle of the winter is the best time to find tire sales, big inventory that didn't move and new tires coming in.....free shipping helps a ton......

Clois, I'm assuming those are road course slicks, not drag racing slicks?

...not interested in drag tires of any kind.

I am JUST now working out some clearance issues with my new Goodyear yellow letter slicks, a slight rub on one side in the back. I checked my ride height and sure enough, I'm a bit low on that side. Level the car and corner weighting coming soon!

The front 26X8X15 sure like to "hunt"!!! I'll need to get a re-alignment and make sure I got a 1/8th or so toe in. But it's kind of cool right now, twitch the wheel and it's instant response. Should be great, as is, for SCCA auto trax.
