Default It`s Yellow Season !!

The guys in New England have their mud season ... and here in the SC Midlands , we have our yellow season .... POLLEN !!
Took the Cobra out this evening and the pollen was so thick that it looked like brush fires about 500 meters out . You could see the pollen making streaks on the hood and scoop as I drove ...no matter how fast I went ! They say we will have this for about another week or two . Got back and looked under the car and had a yellow chassis , sump , tranny and rear end .
Oh well , at least the water temps got to 185 , oil was 200 degrees and oil pressure was 40 at idle and 58 psi at 2800 rpm ... ambient was 91 degrees .
I know what I`ll be doing tomorrow .... cleaning the car !!

I just drove through SC over the weekend (vacationing in Hilton Head)--and the pollen was terrible (a yellow haze when driving). I live in NC and the pollen is bad here, as well.

I can imagine it made a bit of a mess on your car. Oh well, it gives you a reason to work/clean on your ERA--which isn't all bad.

We have tree pollen this week here in the southwest...green haze on a lot of cars left outside over night. Today the wind will move a lot of it to Kansas City and St. Louis. Get out the allergy pills!

Same story here in Alabama. Yesterday would have been perfect weather except for the yellow fog that hung over everything. There's a nasty weather front due here Thursday that should clear the air.

It started here in south GA a couple of weeks ago and is finally starting to subside. My sinuses will be very glad when it's done!

In addition to the weather report this morning for the Master`s guests ... they called for 1 to 1 1/2' of pollen !! A little tongue in cheek , but if you don`t live in the South , it probably seems like it .
We are supposed to see the same front here on Thursday ... hopefully , it`ll clear things out . The Cobra stays in the garage for the time being !

Be careful when removing pollen from paint. If you look at it under a microscope pollen is a fine grained sandpaper. Wiping dry can and will scratch paint. We get sticky pine / juniper pollen an the only way to get it off is to wash with soapy water.

Here in Pennsylvania it got bad yesterday. Driving home from work it seemed like a fog bank but it was just pollen blowing around. I was going to take a quick ride since I got home early but decided against it. The Cobra will stay in the garage for the next few weeks.
