Hot and Wet - Bad-ass black ERA 289 back from paint
Just got back this evening from picking up my ERA from Ken's in Yuba City. I asked for a dark, deep gloss black that looked wet, and, as you can see, I got what I was asking for.
Ken's did an outstanding job on my ERA 289FIA. I am thrilled with the final outcome. I cannot wait to put it back together and get it on the road.
Sah-weeeet!!!!

tkb289 and got-the-bug came by to help me roll my Cobra off the trailer and into my garage, along with my neighbor up the street, Jack, who is a fellow hot-rodder.
Thanks for the help, guys!

Nice little trip for a paint job. Looks like it was worth it. Love their signage.

Looks really good Doug, the best of luck with it. Its tough to get a 'real' black, but looks like you were successful.

Vintage Wheels
I opted for the 427-style wheel as opposed to the FIA wheel 'cause I like them better. I had them custom machined by Vintage so they'd fit my ERA 289FIA.
www.vintagewheelsus.com is the Vintage Wheels web site. Highly recommend them.

What did you do machining wise to get them to fit your ERA 289FIA?
Thanks

ERA supplied the necessary drawings to set the proper backspacing. I think the drawings are available on their website www.erareplicas.com, or you can contact Bob at ERA.
More progress on putting it all back together. Reinstalled my oil cooler screen, taillights, and the tonneau cover snaps. Doesn't sound like much, but that was about two hours of tinkering.

During lunch today I made a list of all the details I need to take care of before I fire it up. So far, 69 lines of stuff to do, everything from "install quick jacks" to polishing the wheels and dressing the tires. I'll be out there again tonight...
