I have a slightly different problem:
Local cat(s) like to p*ss up (thats not a 'u') the side/front of the car, usually around the front. One of them managed to spray it up higher than the headlights on my old cobra replica. Thought the rad was faulty at first, till i smelled it. I popped into the house last month for some lunch with garage door up, and when I came back, no cat, but smelly p*ss on my tools.
Cat city where I live - 1 even comes in the front door and makes its way to the kitchen to help itself, till chased out.

We are ate up with cats where I live and no one within a mile owns a cat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There is one big,old female that stays next door that comes running to my shop the second I open the roll up door. She's a good cat, usually sits on the end of my workbench and supervises me, other than that, she never goes around either of my 2 Mustangs or my truck that stay in the shop!!!!!!!!!!
Now for the other strays that come around, one well placed 22 cal. CB cap or Short does the job nicely........I really do not like killin animals that I don't plan to eat, but some of those strays get pretty destructive in the shop and one snuck in one winter and had a litter in the corner hidden in some junk I had.........
PS: Sorry Jamo...........
David

David, you gotta do what ya gotta do, obviously...just don't like torture humor.
Around here... in the First World...our local ASPCA will lend you traps and come and get them once you trap them. We use that service from time to time and are getting ready to do so with the litter from across the street as soon as we find the kittens that one of young females had (she's got full teats).

Having your cat walk on your car cover wasn't the only puzzikatzen you had to worry about in getting your cobra.
--suck-up and deal, puzzikatzen are a natural part of life.

We have four cats and they never leave the house. That means the garage is also off limits.
Since my wife feeds the birds, that means that our yard is a hunting ground for all of the neighbors cats that roam free. So far none have ventured into the garage, but if they do, then I will resort to trapping them and calling the humane society to come pick them up. It really makes me mad that the neighbors do not take responsibility for their animals. Not the cats fault.

Blow-gun. Start with the flat tipped thumper darts. Smack it once or twice with those. If that doesn't effect the change in behavior that you are looking for, go with the steel dart. Of course when doing this with the steel darts you are risking your paint, so watch your arc of fire. I guarantee you'll only have to hit it once with a steel dart and (dead or not) he won't be back.

SUPER SOAKER ! Hit that cat with a blast and had to do it once more on another day. Since then no more sleeping in the Cobra seat. I like cats but they can be real PITA at times.

My Wife uses a party whistle ( like the new-years-eve type )
-- the little guys even *see* the whistle and they drop-run-split.
they are now trained.
