Back to keeping cats off Cobras...
No, They called me Jungle Boy. I would make a #4 trap and catch the cat. You can use virtually any container big enough to hold the animal and a couple of sticks. Fool proof trap.

A Story; Mac - my old Orange cat would come into the garage and curl up in a footwell or on top of the backseat and hang out with me whilst I was working on a car at home.

He also did this on conference calls and IT work -- Mac was better at Cisco configs and Linux than most of my customers admins.

He hung out with me for 12 years, and then sadly - he was the victim of kitty cat cancer.

I have a new recruit now - Parker, about a 1 year old orange cat. -- and he shows promise.

So cats can be your friends, -

So ---No more eradication on this thread. --OK

I dont talk about gassing your kids, shaving them , or pelting them with BB guns - or setting them on fire.

For some of us, our animals are that close to us.

I respect your pets ( children ) you can respect mine ( cats ) .

You just need to get a bigger cat to keep the small ones away.

PANAVIA....Thank You. You expressed it better than I could.
If one of these "REAL" men would go hunting a grizzly bear with just a knife I might be able to respect them. But to kill a 12 lb ball of fur is pretty warped. Like my friend says....not enough chlorine in that gene pool...

We've had some characters...

Gadoo ("cat" in Armenian) was with us for 20+ years...from college through law school to "teaching" two of our three girls how to treat animals. Used to use my Black's as a scratching post. Lost a leg to a fight with two young Dobermans...they lost the fight. Big black Persian/Siamese with the face and bulk of the Persian and the broken tail, short hair and disposition of the Siamese...and one of those rare cats that survived feline leukemia.

Bam-Bam and Pebbles...two ferocious Manxes that hunted in pairs. We lost both of them last year after 19 years.

Princess Fat B!tch the Magnificent...a big fluffy calico that jumps from the second floor balconey to the couch below in the great room. She really hates it when she misses.

Mel...a famous Gashole cat having worn Amy's Panties. Stays with me in my home office.

Chase...current defender of the relm. Fights anything that comes into our property, and has some ongoing battles with a large racoon and a small fox down by the creek. Big vet bills over the years.

Many others over the years.

...and the dogs. Currently two labs who rule the pool but know their place when the cats are around. Even have a couple of rats that daughter #3 brought home from college...smart little basturds them. Buddy, the big black lab, loves to play rat soccer when we put one of them in a plastic hamster ball.

Not many humans I choose over my pets.

We're a cat family too. No time to really take care of a dog. I'm worried about my little Buddy. Well, he wasn't so little last winter but has lost weight to now and I think he drinks more than he used to. We've had him tested twice and doc says no diabetes or kidney issues. Maybe he went on the same diet I did.

I have a Shelby GT convertible that we drive to Vegas to visit friends that live there (I can't imagine driving the Cobra 800 miles in one sitting). One morning I went to get coffee and there is a nice little ring of cat fur on the rag top. The neighbor's big orange tabby spent the night on the rag top.

I have tried pepper and most of the other humane suggestions and had given up. My Cobra cover has a brown spot right in front of the windscreen where the cat likes to sit. As I was rummaging around in the garage I found some deer netting. It is a lightweight 1/2 mesh net. I decided to build a frame out of 3/4" PVC sprinkler tubing which was also stacked up in the corner of the garage. I built it to cover only from the front of the Cobra to the windscreen. I didn't glue the PVC together to keep it easy to break down in the summer if I don't need it.

SSScat will do the trick. I have one and it works great to keep the cats off of just about anything. It is a can of compressed air with a battery operated photocel device on the top. When the cat comes into range, it lets out a loud hiss of compressed air. Scares the hell out of the cat but doesn't hurt them.

Not a cat, and it didn't touch my Cobra, but we've had a possum in the roof for ages. The other day I closed up the eave on the garage extension where it was getting in/out, and trapped with nowhere to go it found its way into the garage through a TINY hole. I scared it back into the ceiling and it spent that night trapped inside the roof.

Next day I closed up the gaps in the garage, and added a camera outside to my existing DVR, and removed a roof tile. when it exited at a bit past midnight, up the ladder I went, the tile went back on and voila no-more poss-poss

Motion detection emailed me when it exited. I love technology

It came back around 03:00am and again at 05:30am wondering why its "door" no longer existed!

That sure not what Possums look like around here. I have used the Sccat product previously listed with success, infact I rarely turn it on the the cat just sees it and wants no part of it. On the other hand cat wants no part of any possums' that are around and they can't jump on the car.

...Ward, Sounds like you need to have a serious chat with kitty and explain the positives of living comfortably in your nice warm beautiful house in Edgemoor vs the downside of sleeping on the Cobra and the negative aspects that she might expect from that transgression....
