We've got cats and dogs, well, more like the wife has 'em. Fortunately all are fixed so a few less hormone problems but still get the tires sprayed on occasion. Worst was one cat was into climbing up and marking all over the windshield part of the cover. Most successful alternative has been putting a few moth balls in an old tuna can and putting about 4 of those on top of the cover.
I also bought one of these Cat Carriers for the ones that don't learn so quick. Rack up 'em up for about 2 hours, hang 'em just high enough where the Jack Russel can't quite reach them, and when you release the cat, they seldom come back in the garage....
[Mod Note..."Cat Carrier" removed for the second damn time in this thread!]

I am saddened by my ability to respond to this, but I put several strips of two sided tape loosely around areas that I wanted "cat-free". Once the cat stepped on the tape, me never came back.

Don't know what all the fuss is bout
Just what is it that you guys don't like about having a cute little yssup being attracted to your ride and then either sit, lay or crawl all over you, scratch that, I mean your car. I always thought that was a side benefit of owning a Cobra???? tin-man

I've never understood the human affliction to share their homes with animals. In the US 64million household cats and 90million dogs. That's 154 million piles of pet poop every day. Not to mention the feral population that is running wild.
I understood that Wisconsin wanted to have a cat shooting season, much like deer season. But it was shot down by animal lovers. Cats eat birds don't there. My mothers two cats fed daily on at least two wild birds.
For the environmentalists out there, I also read a study by some save the planet folk that a dog had a carbon footprint of a SUV. A cat was equivalent of a VW. Don't tell Al Gore you have house pets.
As for stopping a cat doing what it wants...Good luck.

The car bubble works for cats, dust and also keeps little fingers off.

Back when I was in college, I built a sound generator that turned on when my carport came on at night. Joys of being an electrical engineering student
I spoke to an instructor at UC Davis vet department about what frequencies that cats find annoying which are outside the human range. With that knowledge in hand, I set to work on a building the generator.
I installed it over my car (a 1990 Chevy Lumina Z34.........what a POS that was!) and pointed the speaker straight down from the roof of the carport.
This did the trick! I could watch the neighborhood cats cross the street when they came to my driveway rather than go near that carport. This looks to be something similar that is available commercially.

After I bought the cat carrier, my wife decided she needed a bigger cat, it was tough to talk her out of this one but no one would have nicked anything from the garage at night...might have shredded more than just the seats and the car cover though.

Looks a little like my dads cat. In 1947 My Dad shot a leopard that was menacing a village in India. Later that day cubs came looking for the mother. Dad having a good heart rescued the cubs and found homes for them. He kept one. Many a hair raising story has been told about keeping Sheba.
BTW we had a real Cobra, but only 6' long visit us in the living room one day. That's why I'm so in love with Cobras' I guess. Scared the loving Crap out of us. Leopard was a piece of cake in comparison. It's all relative I guess. (My Forum name Lal Naja means red cobra in Hindi, if your wondering.)

Now I understand your difficulty with cohabitation with animals.

We had one bad ass cat. He used to get into it with the neighborhood fox. It was usually a draw. The other cats in the neighborhood were no match. But he would be home at the end of every day to sleep with the kids on their beds with his head on the pillow next to them. He was a real part of the family. I miss him, but I like dogs much better overall. Our husky/chow mix, Max was my buddy. I miss him too. My son has an 80lb English Bulldog, Brutus. Brutus is like a big loveable child. He just wants to be around you, like a meaty lapdog. I am thinking of getting one also. Will not ever get another cat unless it is a "Bengal" cat. Even then, it is highly doubtful.

I guess I have an unusual way of looking at cohabitation. For example if you had a human friend that could lick his butt and other parts of his body, would you allow him/her to hang around you and your family and lick your faces?
We humans are a strange breed.
I live in a dust free house. Outside air never enters my home un-filtered except when you walk out the door. All incoming air is automatically exchanged through a heat exchanger for energy efficiency. Air is then filtered and UV sterilized. What me allow animal fur & saliva dander in my living space???
I suffered for about 40 years with respiratory allergies. As a result of my clean zone I am 100% cured of allergies. And my wife and I love living in a virtually dust free home.
Now you know!

Assolutely think we fully understand assactly where you're coming from even though you can't understand why other folks don't mind snuggling up to a nice poossy on a regular basis.
Did you used to be called Bubble Boy?
I know lots of folks with different allergies...glad you could make accomodations work for you. Many can't.
Back to keeping cats off Cobras...
