You can call me all the names you want, it won't change your posting on threads that you have no direct knowledge on.

Must be serious Now I can see why you thought installing a shifter on a Superformance is "quite a job"

As a professional mechanic you don't need to own the same kind of car you work on. That's the part you don't get. I've worked on hundreds of cars over the years and most of them I didn't ever own one just like it.

Take the SPF with the engine/trans out. It is enough to see the construction, what's involved, inspect the parts, consult with the owner to determine this is not as simple as you would have a new owner believe.

Kirkham suspension is virtually identical to the original Cobra suspension. If your a mechanic, it's not rocket science to talk to an owner and determine if he has the necessary skill set to proceed with the repair. Or, he needs to take his vehicle to a qualified mechanic with expertise in that area. THAT would be ME, all though I've never owned an original or a Kirkham. I've never owned a Ferrari either, but I've worked on several of them.

If you had a clue about the rear wheel bearings on the originals and Kirkhams, you would understand there is no simple "adjustment" that can be done. The bearings are shimed to a specific clearance and pre-load during a rebuild. It is best to entirely remove the rear components and do a rebuild on the bench, not the car.

The picture is correct for a loose rear wheel bearing on a Kirkham, be afraid, be very afraid.
