40, got mine 3 years ago. My father and I would always drool over them. I am proud to let him drive it. He gets about 30% of the driving time.

OK, BillB, I test drove a new black '64 260 Cobra from a dealer in Pacifica (CA) in June of '64. I ended up with a '64 Corvette (loaded), because I couldn't afford the extra $1K it would have cost me to go with the Cobra. Both were pretty cool cars. How's *that* for old? Rich

56 later this month and in the midst of a build.
My late father took me to one of the local Ford dealers in town to see the recently-introduced Ford Mustang along with a special traveling Ford display that included a Ford GT (red) and a Cobra (also red) with a 289. I was nine at the time. In college in the early '70s, I saw a 427 Cobra on a USED CAR LOT--it looked great, but they wanted $7000. (which I certainly didn't have). Besides, that's roughly what they cost new and, after all, it was just a used car . . . .
Those two experiences whetted my appetite. While I'll never be able to afford an original Cobra, my ERA 427 replica will meet my needs just fine!

Sorry to bring this from the dead, but I felt compelled to say that I have to think long and hard to remember a tape player, and parachute pants. I am 24, so I guess I may win to be the youngest. Couldn't wait to drive it so I bought it built and will have it free and clear this May. Young at heart and body.
