Default What does the name COBRA stand for from the TV show GI Joe?

I know COBRA is now a word that has now been regulated to a non acronym word, such as scuba and radar, but it used to stand for something. Anyone remember?

According to the Wikipedia discussion thread, COBRA does not stand for anything. There are several possibilities but nothing was ever explicitly defined.

The first use of Cobra, with the exception of the snake, I knew was the Crosley CoBra engine. That stood for Copper-Brazed, the engine was made of stamped pieces and then brazed together. The snake is the most long lasting use of the name though.

OK Jamo I call U.N.C.L.E. Good one. Maybe CONTROL or KAOS will know what COBRA stands for.

COBRA is based on Cobra-la and explained in G.I. Joe: The Movie, see here:
