Saratoga Auto Museum 7-3-2010 (Two Original Cobras)
Guys,
Just a perfect day in Upstate New York, nothing but blue sky and sunshine! I had a rare chance to look over two original unrestored Cobras, you could have knocked me over with a feather! The only down side, crappy camera with very little battery but I did my best...
CSX2171 Slab Side with all the patina left from racing and sitting in a barn for 13 years. Had a full mechanical restoration but all the dirt and grime was left behind for us to enjoy!
CSX3299 Unmolested 427 Street Cobra, only 6000 some miles, was repainted before the owner purchased 6 years earlier but everything else as delivered in 1967 (I'm not sure about the oil cooler) with original brake pads.
Here's a link to my photobucket account so you can enjoy some more photos.

The slab side is owned by Jim Taylor of Gloversville, NY (who has a substantial car collection) and was at Amelia Island this past March. The front turn signals are quite different, apparently original, with "Cobra" written on them.
The Saratoga Museum, while not large, changes its display on a regular basis. A must see destination...

Jeff & Jim,
Either of you guys interested in joining the Lake George Cobra Run next weekend July 9-11th? If the weather can be 1/2 as good as this weekend it will be perfect!
Both cars were owned by Jim Taylor.
Pat

Unfortunately, I am gearing up for a trek to the Glen with the NEQ Audi club the following weekend and will be off to New Britski this coming weekend to pick up the GT...
Do put me on your e-mail list. While we are "downstate", with some notice, we'd love to join in events in the future.
Jim

Track Day at the Glen
There is a two day track day event with SCDA at Watkins Glen on Monday and Tuesday, (7/12 and 7/13). There will be at least one Cobra there (Me).
Come join the fun!

Maybe Jim Taylor can weigh in here to confirm, but I believe that white slabside is CSX2171, not CSX2191. I've seen it described elsewhere, with photos including the Utah license plate, and identified as CSX2171. Further, I happen to know that CSX2191, circa 1971, was either Guardsman Blue or Maroon. It was owned by my father at the time. It was blue circa '67 or '68 when he acquired it, and was maroon circa '73 or so when it was sold (I don't know exactly what year he sold it... I'll have to ask him next time we talk... I was just a toddler at the time so I don't exactly recall... ). We've lost track of it over the years, but it certainly wasn't white and in a barn in 1971!

Really no need to apologize! 2191 is clearly what's written on the tag. Mainly I got excited to find possible information about 2191's current whereabouts and even though it turns out to be 2171 I thought I'd still share what I know about 2191 for the enjoyment of all! I love the 289's!!
