It is an interesting thought. I have considered the same thing. Then, I met a Lambo owner who was very proud of getting 100 pounds out of his car by removing the front diff and axles. He said it ran much better and was more fun without the 4 wheel drive.
He said that a lot of Lambo owners do the same thing. It reduces understeer and lets you do nice burnouts!
