Default Show me your INTERIOR picturese!

SHOW ME YOUR INTERIOR

I am on the final stage of interior! I am looking for some great ideas on interiors! I'm looking for unique interiors, two-tone, custom, outrageous, anything that screams "that's my car"! Sorry traditional Cobra guys, I don't want a boring replica...I built a hot rod!

Well, there was this one Cobra at a car show we went to that may suit your purposes. It had light purple long shag carpet, white seats with purple piping, fuzzy dice hanging from the mirror, and a fringe all the way around the cockpit where the rolled edges would/should be.

Is that kind of what you were looking for?

LOL Bob,

The problem I see is you kind of have the cart in front of the horse here. You want to build a custom interior and your body is already painted...thats going to limit just how custom you can go. Take a look at my gallery and you can see the dash I built for mine. While your there tell me which gauge lay out you like the best...lol.

Gene
I already have my dash painted, what I am looking for is styling for door panels, if you did a rolled edge on the back of the car, what type of carpeting...My dash and my seats are complete. I am just looking for interesting ideas on a custom interior, not the run of the mill black carpeting and vinyl door panels.

I got ya...I hear ya with the run of the mill black. Dont get me wrong...I love the black...I love the original interior. If I had an original I would do it that way...mines not an original. I like the painted look myself.

I have this thought running around in my head about bringing the stripes up the hood and then making them run around the sides of the cockpit area at the tops of the doors and then down the back. Kind of hard to describe. My doors are glassed in and smooth filled...Ihave a little different shape to work with.

Okay, hope I didn't ruffle any feathers. I just can't get the picture of the hideous Cobra out of my mind since I saw it several years ago.

I always thought it would really dress up the interior to do the rear bulkhead in a tuck and roll or other type of dressing behind the seats. Leather would be nice, but vinyl would hold up to the weather better.
I've seen some seats done in tan that looked great. You could have a two (or three) tones seats with one color for the back and sides, a color for some panels of the seats, and a logo or separate panel with a complimentary color.

Custom door panels will really dress up the interior. There are several vendors here and on ffcars.com that make custom door panels that are very nice and not really very expensive. Some of them have wood panels in them, or carbon fiber that will really set off the interior colors.

So many ideas, so little time. I'm sure we can find lots of ways to spend your money....

I love the idea of the doors being glassed and painted, but I couldnt do it. But I think its a great idea. I did door poppers on mine (I didn't want people sticking their arms in my car and scratching the paint), I plan on doing a 2 tone door panel with a speaker in it. I had my seats done by Auto Craft Interiors out of MA and the guy did an awesome job. He used aircraft aluminum buckets, 2 tone and heated seats and they came out great. We used a material called Ultraleather...Ultraleather is perfect...durability of vinyl and the look and feel of leather. It's what the big boat manufacturers are using. I painted my dash because nothing is worse than looking a hot cobra and seeing cracks in the vinyl dash...I trying to get an idea of what i want the door panels to look like and behind the seats. How the carpet should be, with piping, if I should have a arm rest made...

Sounds like a toilet lid cover at a cathouse.

Backdraft has some decent looking two-tone interiors without getting getto looking. You could look at some of their cars for ideas.

Amimal fur (The more endangered the species, the better) would be the exception, but you must swear to only tell people you did it to piss off the enviromentalists even more. (None of that fake white Tiger fur)

I like the brushed metal look. Don't really care for the tan seats though.

Maybe its in 1st or 3rd right now?
